Spyware

Why should TRS 2010 need to contact Auran when I come out of it? Because it does do so; even when I have only been in surveyor changing my own route, with my own assets. Why should Auran be interested in this? I have traffic monitoring on my system and 2010 keeps phoning home. Why do this? When I bought TRS 2010 nobody told me about the spyware included in the software and I should like it to stop.

I think what you're seeing is TADDaemon trying to update CM3. Annoying but hardly malicious. Set your firewall to block access if you're really that worried. Of course, that also means no updates but you knew that.

I run TS2010 offline, no problems. Do I can download from the DLS, my firewall allows CM to talk to the IP address of firstclass.auran.com; no other communication is possible by any other program to any other IP address. This is called Restrictive Firewalling. This also spares me from having to have performance-robbing anti-virus and anti-spyware software.

I think we've reached the point where too many people are actually scared of their own shadow.

Almost every program attempts to access the manufacturer's site. That's what firewalls are for.
