SP5 and performance

The last few weeks I've really been trying to optimise my route so that I can get over 30 fps on all parts whilst running what is a very complex and busy session.

Whilst spending a lot of time reviewing the performance of assets with a large file size, I'd somewhat overlooked some of the smaller assets. By chance I looked at 3 Ccar assets by misterairbrush and found that they were contributing to a massive performance hit. On parts of my route where I might have been lucky to achieve 27 fps, it's now over 40 fps - an incredible improvement.

Just goes to show how much time and effort you have to spend on fine tuning your routes to edge up performance.

I really wish they would bring back the 'Process Objects Behind Camera' option. It really helped a lot.
This process of mine only started when they decided to remove this feature because my route was suddenly subjected to really poor performance. I don’t recall anyone complaining about the feature so why not just leave it alone? They didn’t even remove it properly. They have plenty of other things to fix… (I’m sure you can sense my frustration!)

My maps on TRS19 SP5 have better FPS than on TRS22 SP4...
Meanwhile SP5HF... is unplayable for me on two my routes and due to system "Has stopped working" error on ntdll.dll. So I'm not touching this build now.

Want to be nice and upload your route to the DLS?

Thanks John
