Something Very Quirky

Trainz Luvr since 2004
I recently noticed some very quirky behavior on my WIP route.

YARN Crossing 1T L2 +Li -Si -Sh <kuid2:124017:30018:1> is missing from the route in both instances it has been used. The asset doesn't show any errors and appears fine in other routes. Notice how the vehicle height has also been changed in the one screenshot. I have concerns about what else has been changed or removed that I don't know about yet because the route is so large.

Can anyone explain this or know how to fix it?

There must be quicksand in that spot!

I use those assets all the time myself and never had that problem before.

Have you tried removing and replacing the crossing?

Do you mean from the route or CM? Remember it is showing up fine in other routes.

I've had plenty of times where YARN intersections have disappeared or becoming disconnected, after saving and then reloading a route I'm working on. Oddly, replacing or reconnecting the roads and saving again it goes away, or rather doesn't go away, and is fine from then on.

I have had both crossings and intersections (sorry I don’t remember which ones) seem to disappear from a route. I say seem to because I later discovered them stacked in a far corner. My guess is they lost the exact coordinates of where they should be placed and defaulted to the corner location. It’s only happened twice and I don’t have any idea what caused it. In both cases my experience was the same as frogpipe’s, I just replaced them and everything was back to normal.

Thanks for the reply but why is that universal answer for everthing? It's like WD-40 for Trainz. An EDR wouldn't be the answer when the works perfectly on every other route.

Depends, as the fault may be caused by something else that is faulty on your route that isn't on the others or an EDR may or may fix routes, which after all are assets in the Database.
Its not always safe to assume that the apparently faulty item is, it can be some other thing that caused the problem. Worth a look in jetlog.txt for anything showing an error when running or editing that route.

I meant just in the route.

I've had them break from the track and the roads though on occasion which is really annoying and are usually not discovered until I've setup a session to drive. I'll go back in and send out a road crew to fix the crossing and everything is fine afterwards.
