Funny you should mention that. I have just been watching a series of videos called rescue and restore where they take old rusted metal toys and restore them like new. I would love to do stuff like that, but I don't have the sandblasters, the airless paint sprayers, and all the tools they use to do it. Great stuff though!looks like an old cast metal toy.
Still remember my old Matchbox collection ... also some Corgis. Majorette didn't exist yet. Those models are very nice. The one without the grill looks like an old cast metal toy.
I've seen that being done. My brother has some of those tools and mentioned doing that someday. I'll let him do it because I hate to say what kind of condition the old toy will end up in after I get my hands on it.Funny you should mention that. You know, initially going to keep it simple, but as the shapes got more complicated it was easier to redo each part and in the end simplify everything.Wow...beautiful. Almost too beautiful for a "fill in" asset. I chuckled when I thought how this thread evolved from "can someone make me a "SIMPLE" asset...LOL
Any chance of a plain sided van as well that could be reskinned into various company colours? You know, initially going to keep it simple, but as the shapes got more complicated it was easier to redo each part and in the end simplify everything.
But, as I mentioned before, I hadn't gotten into vehicles yet and it was also a good excuse to get back into Trainz and Blender ... I haven't done much since January, I guess due to lack of motivation. As say, the perfect excuse and an opportunity to try new techniques.
Anyway, it's going to be a nice and cute van...
