Some Advice Please

I'M trying to patch TRS2009 from ver. 40040 to 41844. I've followed the instructions; Unplugged from Internet, turned off virus software, Run in Safe Mode.

When I run the patch I get the message "This version of Trainz requires the August 2009 release of DirectX9" the patch is then aborted. I'm pretty sure I've got a later version of DirectX9c. I'm not sure where to go from here. Anyone had this problem? If so, where did you go from here. Thanks.
