Snow question

Forgive me if I'm in the wrong forum, but I'm trying to get some snow!

In the route I'm playing with the trees are all seasonal, so being winter they are bare.

In the environment tab I have the date as today.

the world origin is correct.

I have the snow set to 20 meters.

My route ranges between 0 (baseboard) to about 150 so there should be a snow pack. There is not.

I don't care to replace all the "grass" with snow unless that's the only way?

I'm trying to get some snow!

I'll remind you of that ... when you are shoveling 27" of "50% chance of Partly Cloudy" off your doorstep, and have to shovel out a parking spot !

Yeah, I live deep in a snow belt, so snow seems to be possible from labor day through to memorial day!

Its blowing hard outside today so I thought I'd get some snow going in my little world....
