Snow High Valley Distr Ctr (High Resolution 950x532) Approx

Poor old Phone is getting worse by the day.

About your phone..
Can't you just get a replacement battery,or is that impossible with your model?

Nice shots, love it when steam engines work hard :p

Thanks SETH, I took quite a few shots once I got things running the way intended, Glad you liked.

I could, but the processor and other things are are almost toast......This is the first time in 20 yrs I had a phone do this, but have heard others where Battery and or Phone start failing, one thing that did happen, was last night my Phone Battery started overheating, after which it loses it's charge in 2hrs now, before it would last 24hrs if not a bit longer.

:( Also because it's over 2 years old, not worth it at this point.....Just one of those things, but I can say, I'm switching from Samsung to Motorola for now, my old favorite, always liked their stuff.

;) One bright light in bad situation, I was able to Trans all my files and my Micro SD will fit in the new Phone, so at Least I save some Green on that and not have to replace.

Thanks for dropping in SETH.

Glad to hear you got everything fairly well sorted out, and that you aren't an apple peasant. Two years is a pretty long slab of time for a phone, but before my current the phone, the phones I had been using previously lasted me pretty much all of high school; from about halfway through freshman year all the way up until the summer before senior year. I've also noticed that I have a bad habit of using multiples of the same phone over an over. My first was a Samsung gem. Painfully old thing, it was in the regions of original iPhone technology. Ironically, I lost it in my cat's cat carrier on the way home from the vet. It has a conveniently phone sized hatch with a lid in the top that I put it in on the way home; I forgot it was there and long story short I didn't find it until around 2 years later. It was the only phone model I did not have more than one of. After that I went to the HTC Incredible. I had 3 of those, the first died when I dropped it in the school parking lot just days before freshman year started, the second died walking to warm-ups before a baseball game, where it too was dropped. The third was actually never used, instead of activating it we found out I was overdue for an upgrade. It's actually still in my night stand in full working order. After it I got the newer Samsung Stellar. I had two of these, the first died after right around two years when its charging port gave out, so I got another and used the original's battery as a spare. This lasted me another year until I upgraded to my current phone, the LG G4. I'm on my 3rd G4 currently, I got my first for my birthday before senior year (I have a summer birthday). It met its demise during a trip to the beach; we were out at night crabbing and it took a swim in the ocean as I was chasing a sand crab. I actually recovered it and it was still working at the time, but it did not survive the encounter. After a week or two without a phone, my second, replacement G4 arrived. This arrangement is actually how I got my 3rd battery. When I sent back the drowned phone, they told me to leave the battery out, and I already had one spare which came with the original, and the new replacement came with one as well, giving me my current 3 battery setup. That is one most resilient battery by the way; in addition to surviving a dip in the ocean I'm pretty sure I've washed it twice too, and it's still going strong. This G4 lasted me all the way up until a few months ago, when it suffered a software malfunction and I couldn't save it. Luckily, warranty covered that one and I have my current device now, also a G4. Great little phone, very fast and easy to use. I quite like it.

Cell Phone Story and corrupted route files

Wow Southern 1581,

That is one great Cell Phone Story, makes for some good reading. Especially the Ocean one. Most stuff lost at the beach stays lost or someone else finds it later on, especially Jewelry.

I remember using Pocket Pagers for 8 yrs before my first Cell. Then I had Nextel, with the Radio Talk feature I think the Screen was slightly over 1" square if you can believe that, oops, I just remembered, I had a Black Cell Phone, similar in size to a house Phone..... no screen, a true Cell at the time. I think it only held 25 Numbers but it worked remarkably well in it's time. Must have used it for 2-3 yrs, and the Nextel for at least 5 yrs.

Then went to Motorola seems to me average time was 4yrs, and then the Smarter Cell Phones by Samsung first was 3yrs, and then 2yrs, and this one 18 Months, my ROI is not looking good, so I'm going back to Motorola and see what the difference is. I also think that with all the software we run on these units, and Heat they experience shortens their electronic Life.

Now switching over to Trainz,

I ran into some more issues, somehow, I lost the backup on my Australian/English Merge Route fortunately I had an older one that is 2/3 of what I had, but lots of restore work to do....Somehow one current copy didn't save right, found out when I did the import to my new installation and wouldn't load period. :'(

But like they say I won't be bored, and fortunately at least I have a good chunk of it in prior backup.

So I lost probably 6-8 months of work.

However, I'm learning more about TANE and bad Assets, so its all the nature of the Beast, At Least I didn't lose it all, one mistake I did make I should have uploaded sometime to the DSL and failed on that part. :(

Downloaded Port Tillamook RR last night nice Route but lots of assets missing, but I did find the Thread on it, and I think it has some info on Missing asset locations.

Removed Dragons Pass both Multiplayer and Ver 4.8 I liked it a lot, but it's just to large of Route for this Laptop to handle, but it gave me some ideas for different things.

Still importing my saved assets that need to be vetted for mistakes, so far I have 24 errors, some Mesh's and I just saw the PEV Tools is up to Version3.2 plus to other fixes were done. So I need to update my Version, I think I have 3.1 or older. Hope to try it soon on my Assets and see if I can fix those Meshes and .pm vs .lm issues
OK going to post this and then go grab some more Kickstarter County Pics.

Snow is a falling and we are headed up the mountains

Got our consist loaded and ready to go, we have 2 ATSF Steamers pulling hard to get us going before the storm gets worse and the Night comes quickly.

I really like the Color of Steam puffs as it's seen thru the Snowy Mountain back drop.

Coming round the bend, we are up gradient here, so far no wheel slip and Boys are working hard to pull the weight.

Getting ready to cross a Bridge over dry ravine, but I think the River is going to come up once the Snow Melt comes later.

Those Boulders look really nice here, Kudos to the Artist that made this route.

Ok, that's it for now, have more importing and cleaning Assets, plus one heck of rebuild on my Australian Merge Route that came up corrupted so I working on an earlier version.

My other Large Merge Route Montana Link/Aurora etc imported OK.

You all have a good week ahead, don't forget Pacific Coast has some Rain coming in by Weds.

Thanks for dropping in Folks I bid you a good evening.

Wow, I genuinely don't remember the last time I saw a .pm mesh. I think the last time I saw one, I was just getting into reskinning...like 6 years ago. A blast from the past to be sure, but luckily an easy fix. Also, some quite above average shots from you today Blue, especially those last two. Very nice shots indeed! :Y:

Sometimes those Pictures just come out great.......

:D Thanks, appreciate that, you know, sometimes you try your best and the Picture Quality for whatever is just not there, other days, it's like the flood gate opens, I took the first pictures day before, I and was amazed at the color of Smoke and Steam and how good it looked against floor scenery and with the Mountains, I decided, hey, I'm going to snap some more for my Friends.

;) You have a great Monday, I headed to getting my Taxes ready (boring and tedious work) But I want to try and get ahead this year.

 Thanks for checking in. See you around.

Less Snow and pushing up the Mountain

Morning all,

Got to get some work down on the Vehicle today, stuff I've been waiting to do since December, I'm excited as it is a Bed Cover I wanted for my Truck, but like anything else it takes time for good work, in this case almost 3 weeks, but it will be worth it, now I won't have to worry about things getting wet from the weather, yikes and we have rain coming in the next few days.

So here we are below on a great scenic day, headed up the hill from the Wood Mills, and going somewhere LOL, I'm still learning this Route. Nothing like getting lost in the Mountains :hehe:

Well the Engineer knows where we are headed, I'm new to the Crew.

Snow has letup for now, but not holding my breath, it can change anytime up here. We got the Peddle to the Metal to get thru these mountains. Water below is looking mighty cold, and won't be surprised if it doesn't freeze some from this Icy weather, it's in the 10 degree range right now! The heat from these Steam Engines Stoked Fire is feeling real good right now!

:p Patch of Steam and a Patch of Blue streaks of Sky.....What a sight I'd say.

Coming round the Bend here doing well so far and keeping an eye on the Knuckle Strain, no breaks today, at least that's what we are aiming for.

Some Craggy Rocks ahead and I have to tell you we have to be careful of potential Avalanches in this area, I almost think we might should use SNOWSHEDS in this area like Donner Pass in the Sierra Nevada Mountains where the Snow can be deadly if your casual to the area and uniformed?

Crossing another bridge now as we continue our Trek across some pristine area of Mountains.

OK, we have come into another Mill area area here and will drop off some cars then continue up.

I have to run now, you all have a great day, and I'll give a recap of what I have been doing with Routes and Asset fixes and Importing inventory back into T:ANE, oh what fun!

:wave:Thanks for dropping in folks. Comments always appreciated. Take care then.

Good evening all,

 Been very busy today working on my near dead cell Phone, it's turning out now it might have been the Cell Battery all the time not the Phone itself! It's funny when you find someone who knows their business, the more correct answers show up, rather than 1/2 guesses.

Aside from that, been trying to get the rest of my assets imported into T:ANE and resolve all the asset Faults, also downloaded one of Msgsappers Routes, Maine Central Portand Div., and I got rid of Port Tillamook and Amatheus, I cleaning out the Routes that have too many problems visa vee Tracks and 20-200 assets missing. I have to say Msgsapper's route didn't have a single asset missing, and the Route appears to be about the right size for my Laptop to run.

So each day I work to get my Asset house in order, little by little I make progress.

Below we have some blue sky with light Snow Flurries coming down, as we approach a Mill of some type, I don't know what it does, I do know it has a Loader, but no way of knowing what the Item is as it's not Editable, it's protected.

We are going to drop some empty Gons in their, maybe there is some way I can figure out what loads are supposed to be? It's a Kickstarter Route, maybe someone knows how to find out how....

We cut the train and sort out the empties for the Factory, then hook up our train and head down the tracks ahead for main Yard.

:(Hmm the Flurries have increased into a heavy Snow Storm now, time to get moving.

Backing up to our Train and off we go.

Looking ahead we see the City on the left as we back up.

We headed to the Yard and then will split this Train into 2 parts, Tankers going one way, and Boxcars another with some more drop offs in Yard Spurs for Industry leads and businesses.

 That'll do it for tonight, I bid you a good day tomorrow.

Posting change for this Thread.

Thank Southern 1581, appreciate nice words ;)

Folks, I have been thinking this over for the last week, now I have decided to just Post once week, instead of Daily, I have a ton of work to do in my Routes since importing them I have lots of Texture repairs to do, about 60-70 miles worth. And I have those things call Honey Dues and House Projects, so I need to reallocate my time around a little better.

I'll probably post again on Sunday.

 Thank you for being a gracious audience.

Shunting at Mill and headed to Railyard

Good Day all,

Had a busy week, and finally resolved my Cell Phone issues, I now have a good battery, and have been working hard on my Bad or Damaged Assets in T:ANE....I cover that later on today or tomorrow, I have some functions to attend later, so I need get some stuff ready.

Below we've finished dropping empty GONs for the mill.

All buttoned up and headed to main yard ahead couple of Miles.

This load will probably end up in the Rail Transfer section ahead in Yard.

Pouring some fresh steam as we move down to enter change Switches ahead. We got our signal to route into the Yard Tracks from Yard Dispatcher.

One heck of Palm Tree here as we view the City sites.

Over to the left of our Engines we see Shops for Car and Engine Maintenance and repair.

That's it for now, I will add another msg later this weekend on what I have been doing with T:ANE relating to Asset Repairs and Route downloads, Cleanup etc.,

Thanks for dropping in folks, I'm not a Football Fan, but may the Best Team win this weekend.

Running in the Rail? Yards and Route Inventory Process and fixing Faulty Assets

Good Monday all,

It's a grey rainy Day here on the West Coast of the USA. Thought I'd drop in for a minute here, the first 5 Pictures are from Kickstarter County Route. Double headers are pulling into the Yard and across the way here we see lots of Passengers in the Snow awaiting Passenger Trains to pick them up.

So in this yard, we are going to split this one train into 2 separate ones, as they are headed different ways down the line. And we will cut some cars out her in the yard for Industries here. And we might have some more Cars to pick up too, not quite sure, have to check with the Yard Master first for additional Car Orders.

As you can see it is very Cold here and the Steam is not rising much above the Ground as we slowly pull into this Yard Track and head out the other other end to break up our consist into 2 trains.

I can't remember if I was on a hill or tall building, when I took this Shot from far away, as it shows our Double headed Train pulling along to other end of Yard, and it is hard to see but the Industries we serve are in the back part of the Yard, I think you can make out a Grainery barely in the Cloudy Mist from the Snow Storm.

Now we have unhooked our Double here, and he will pull out to clear for the Engineer behind. If you look in this picture where the second smaller tree is? To the left of it, is one of the Industries will put the Purina Box Car at for Service unload. We have several small industries here to serve today. Our Train Crews will be busy, and we have another Freight inbound in an hour, bringing lots of cars for Sort and Spot by Shunting Crews scheduled in 2 hours. Don't know if will be out by dusk or not, have to see how things go, and the Weather and Visibility all tying into our operations today, nothing new, this is the way it is, Safety as always is paramount for our Crews and Me.

(YOU CHEAT ON SAFETY YOU PUT OTHERS LIVES AT RISK)

That simple, that straight forward, and I can tell you in real life, I almost cut my ankle off with some construction equipment being sloppy on exit from machine, almost cut my forehead with a chainsaw, 80' up in a Pine Tree, cause by shear exhaustion cutting a huge tree down! The Chain Saw was exactly 2" away from my Forehead....about as as close as I ever wanted to be to High Speed full on throttled Chain in motion.

Fell out out of tree 15' straight down to the ground, and scraped my arms all the way down, trying not to break any bones, not using proper safety equipment.

Had an old wooden ladder break on me, lucky on that one. Never went back to Wooden Ladders again, had no idea it was going to fail like it did.

All theses things where from age 15-35, dumb and stupid stuff!

I can tell you these things, because I have seen worse on the Railroads........

For me I was very lucky with my near accidents, others have not been so lucky.........I apologize for going off on a tangent here, It was just something that came to mind as I was typing to you all here, and I'm sure you have some good ones too.

This is the Tower for Yard Dispatch, I think I would get tongue twisted if I had to repeat or try and spell these names out fast.

Now lets switch over to my current list of Routes here, this is what i have currently, and I'm in the process of going thru and cleaning out the ones I can't fix or I don't care for, little at a time.

Brazilian Wildlands is my first route I downloaded for my IPAD, I don't recall who built it, but I liked the mountain work and unusual colors, I was brand new to Trainz, using Trainz Driver 2 in Ipad, so this was me taking Route from DLS and changing to my needs, it's only 2 Baseboards wide, and I learned a lot from it, and the limitations of my IPAD at the time.....I'm thinking about merging it into one of my larger Layouts when I get around to it. Just another bucket list item, fun thing to do when I have time.

Aside from that, I'm learning Asset X, amazing program, I have to re install all of it again, as I need to get it up to Version 3.2, not a real big deal like re doing Trainz.

Working really hard to clear up 206 Faulty assets, I had 489 going into the weekend, 100 were POFIG trees which I just deleted out.....

That's it for now, hope you all have a great week.

Thanks for visiting, and I probably won't post pictures till next weekend.

Re Looking at one of my first Route downloads from Trainz 2 IPAD era.

Evening all,

Been buried in Tax time paperwork today, always fun, but you know, I need some diversion too!

Yesterday I worked on Missing/Faulty Assets on my many Routes, started at -289, narrowed down to -126, downloaded +4050 in addition, amazing how many are missing. But it won't deter my efforts to correct as best I can.

I'm using AssetX as I learn a little each day.

So the picture below is one of my first Route downloads from DLS, I believe it was called Brazilian Wilds, Author UNK? Now it didn't look quit like you see it now, I made a lot of changes to it as I used this one in IPAD Trainz 2, when I first came aboard.

The reason I downloaded this particular layout, for one, I knew Ipad with HD and Graphics was very limited, and this route was only 2 Baseboards period, small and compact, plus it had mountains, very color full ones at that. And the final point, I was green as you can get, knew enough to get in lots of Trouble, but also new it was time to look at a Complete Route and play around to see what I could do to change, improve and learn how Trainz worked.

So I started laying tracks, textures, and figuring how put Bridges in, and what Curves did, you bet I had some severe derailments, LOL, but it worked. Also learned how those Crazy Tunnels worked too, they drove me crazy sometimes to get them to line up ok, I didn't understand at first that they would automatically hook to the nearest Grid......

As you can see here, I have tracks in mid air, because I touched the Terrain by having to large a Circle when I used the tool. And I have some cars here that probably didn't belong, but hey, it was having fun Time!

Below is a map of the Route I made, and I plan on plugging it with one my Multi Merged Routes I have somewhere, I'll need to adjust some of the Tracks but now it's no big deal, as I have got some experience under my belt. Still learning something every week.

The Green in the middle is the original Route, I added the Squares outside with more Tracks when I expanded the area.

I never knew I could bring this route over to TS-12, but it worked, and I still have this one on the old IPAD, I won't get rid of it. If you have any questions about this Route, feel free to ask.

So I just dropped in here to show this to you all.

Need to get back to the paperwork tonight.

:wave:Have a good day tomorrow and thanks for coming by.

UP 9000 GAS Turbine

It's real late tonight, but thought I'd post a few before retiring to bed.,

I had some real trouble with these UP 9000 Assets, I was able to fix them in Asset X so I put them together on Brazilian Wilds Route, which has a lot of Texture, Holes, and misalignment of Tracks I need to fix, but even so, :D I so proud to get them working after 6 months of not, I really thought I wouldn't ever get them working again.

So here they are running light with just a Caboose on the back, and so far no issues.

I reduced my Faulty Count from -121 to -115, didn't have a lot of time to spend in Trainz Today as I was cleaning Mr's Blues Computer, lets say she acquired some things over the years and it was time for Spring Cleaning, LOL, even she was surprised how much was in there.

Pulling across a Bridge I put in 2 years ago. There is Coal Dump Facility below in a Quarry area.

The mountains behind, now I have more Textures to play with, I plan on changing the patterns, and I will add some Trees Etc, so it doesn't look so bare and Plain.

That's about it for tonight folks,

I will close saying thanks to MSGSapper, who I saw speak about another terrific compact layout he made. Master full work..........

 http://forums.auran.com/trainz/show...Rail-Jesse-James-Line-official-support-thread :Y:

I downloaded it today, and it looks really cool, I haven't had time to play on yet, I want to get some more Faulty Assets fixed, I do a few each day until I find that magic number Zero.......

:wave:Have a blessed Friday and please check out MSGSapper's sight, he has several Routes on the DLS.

New Route "Hungry Horse River

Evening Folks,

 Been busy downloading and Checking some new routes today,

the latest one is this "Hungry Horse River" by jjslll54

http://forums.auran.com/trainz/showthread.php?136932-New-layout-to-be-available-soon

Here is a the Map of it, it's a fantastic Route, and I recommend checking it out, I downloaded it to T:ANE and only had 4 unknown assets, one was a Texture the other is A Frame Round Table, but there is a Substitution for it, when you use the Link I provided to the Authors Thread...please go and read his story about the Route he released.

jjslll54

This route is amazing, and has great sites and water reflections, the Mountains, the Trees, perfectly built. and plenty to do but not too large for my Laptop to Run.

Below I snapped some pictures with MAP below, so you can get an idea of the Route.

This looks to me like a Helicopter landing pad? Some really unique features on his Route Building Capabilities.

The River Rapids below in Mountain Canyons are really very natural looking here, and in other places on the Route. Plus you have Roads with just right amount of Traffic to keep it interesting for the user.

This is one of the Main Yards, not to large for my taste, just right. Of course you can change things to taste?

Beautiful Bay area here, he extended the waters out far enough, you don't see the water ending to quickly on the edges, it looks very natural and inviting. Here the water is flowing fast so you see Rapids and lots of Water Spray, going under the Road Bridges, just eloquently made.

Here is one of the local Towns, look how nice the houses are placed, Streets evenly laid out, not crammed together, just the right amount of Trees and plants placed, good color spray all around.

Sorry I did this in Surveyor, but I hadn't finished with missing assets yet.

And here is a little Steam Train for your viewing pleasure, just look at how nice all the Foliage is placed.

Also he has Narrow Gauge in here as well you have to download it to find out about the Narrow Gauge.

I really like this Route, and think it has a lot of Potential, can't wait to run some Trains on it tomorrow after I fix a couple of missing asset.

Kudos to the Author for a job well done!

I think this Route is going to edge some of my others I downloaded, but like always it will be tough to choose, there are many great route builders here in Trainz, and I am grateful for their vision, dedication and attention to detail.

:wave:Time for bed now folks, thanks for coming by and i bid you a very blessed Sunday.
