Slight 09' glitch

I know this may not be the right place but oh well.

I was testing prowlers K-28's on northbay just to see how fast it would go on average (which just happens to be around 70MPH for those who ask). I was planning to stop at the depot where i had it before and refuel, i hit the loco brake but it barely slowed it down so i applyed more brake until i was in emergency about 3 miles after the depot lol, then i put the engine into full reverse, speed slowed to about 15MPH, then i started cutting the throttle, at about 8MPH i shut the throttle completely and this happened........

ntoe the speed, no i did not modify the config or anything, it just instantly (i mean absolutly less then a second later) jumped to 250MPH, It would bounce from 200 back to 250 if it slowed to 200MPH.

I was just trying to find my jaw on the floor when i jumped above 300!!!!!! At this point i was trying everything to stop it.

apperently IT wanted to stop too because it instantly stopped and the trucks and drivers dissapeared. plus the effects on the tender. the speedometer reads 750MPH but i am standing still

now heres the REALLY funny part (no pic sorry)
I sat with the engine fro awhile jsut amazed when the trucks and drivers came along WITHOUT an engine doing about 750MPH.

I'm gunna try a test again see waht happens.

I have had similar things happen, but your extraordinary experience really needs documenting. Take heaps of pics next time.

You should get a prize for the effort.

TS2009 and steam locomotives just do not mix off the shelf. There are some mods to do before they behave, at least a lot better than your effort.

ok after testing i have found. it dosn't always hppen (sometimes it will, sometimes it won't). but if your in 09' set all the brakes for a loco while moving a a good enough speed so you hae time to do this, apply full reverse and when you get down to about 10 MPH shut the throttle, the engine will take off like a rocket.

What kind of mods?

Reminds me of the time I was skiing and saw a ski with the boot still attached, come flying down the slope and hit a tree.
Lucky for the owner of the ski and boot, he was further uphill in just the boot liner.

Your trainless trucks would be a great one for the video!

nope no faulty dependancys, it can happen to any loco

I didn't get a video of the trucks moving unfortunatly, didn't have fraps on and the trucks where gone by the time the picture took (pretty much a blur flying by). I have yet to have THAT happen again in tests (although the trucks and wheels dissapear in the other tests the trucks never re-appear engine or not.

Nope, no missing dependencies. Just running full steam with a string of pullmans behind me, then the loco just stopped dead, wheels gone.

Exactly how it happened on my track.

Although, in my case, the loco ran back towards some box cars. It didn't just hit the box cars, it went through them, and got stuck inside the last car.

In response to zues, you will have to do a search to find the mods that some people have been successful with, otherwise, you can wait until the next service pack. The third option is, don't do what has been described by Jimmy. But if you want to create such a disaster, make sure you take some screen shots and share them with us.
