Signal Trouble

Track Work Expert
Hi
Iv got an 16 track terminus. Which all 16 tracks merge into 4 main lines 2 up ans 2 down. Im having trouble trying to work out which signals to use to control when a train leaves the station, so there is no collision with incoming trains, this is due to incoming trains having to cross over the outgoing mainline to reach certain platforms. Can anyone help me with this problem?

Note: I am use TRS2006 and NSW set of signals.

hi mate
i detailed that around christmas time

i just reformatted my computer so i do not have the files here

put in my name under a search.
you will see it with the answer to a signal question

you need to make it into blocks controlled by the signals themselves
i did show how its done
cheers

Sorry I cant seem to find what you instructed me to find. There was one thing I found which was similar but didn't help at all.

Not familiar with the NSW signals, if you were using UK signals I'd say go for Bloodnok's VSR signal & target system.
The trick is to avoid diamond crossings, Trainz does not distinguish between tracks crossing at a diamond, a bridge or a tunnel.
You don't say exactly what your "station throat" layout is, the simpleist is for each of your main lines to split into a fan of four tracks, with "ladder" crossovers between each of the 4 mains.
Put a signal on both of your incoming tracks outside this ladder and an(outgoing) signal at the end of each platform. Use the PathSet driver command thats built in to TRS06 to set a route through the station throat. As long as you don't have any diamonds then that should avoid any collisions.

Hope this helps, any Qs, just ask!

You could use trigger multiple signals rule. Place triggers on the track and set the triggers to turn a signal or signals to red. Any train detected by the triggers will turn selected signals to red stopping a train from crossing across anothers path
