I was playing around today, and thought of designing a model railway route. But, instead of using HO Scale measurements, I'm doing this in Real Scale.
What I have so far of the route. The Warrenbindi River is a river flowing about 5km out of Yale, in the state of Victoria's far East. The Warrenbindi Vineyards can be seen in the foreground on the Down, with the small township of Warrenbindi just about out of sight, which has been added since I took this screenshot. The little island in the middle of the river will be a hermit's house, who goes by the name of Harvey.
This will be a steady WIP that, unlike all my other routes, I will hopefully, one day, release.
DD 584 is running the 10.05 Yale service, trundling in through the Warrenbindi vineyards at about 15mph
Crossing the vineyard access road
After dropping the freight wagons off, DD 584 has arrived into Warrenbindi, and is waiting to be given the green signal. Part of the township can be seen in the background
Finally getting somewhere with the West Catasauqua area of my Ironton RR route...
All the tracks are now in except the rest of the Reading Co. yard in the lower left.
"South" end. The Lehigh Valley and Reading had stations here, and the L&NE came in from across the river.
Looking the other direction. Reading Co. yard to the left, Lehigh Valley up the middle, and Ironton further on up (past the boxcars and the right water tower).
First Pics of my new route that I'm calling the 'Pioneer Valley Railroad - Norfolk District'. It is roughly based on an N-scale track plan and Satelite photos of the Norfolk & Portsmouth Belt Line. More to come in the next few weeks.
Just in case you ever wanted to go proto-freelanced on it, I'll be doing the NPBL for Trainz including the Chesapeake and Albemarle and Lamberts Point, with the tracks going quite a ways into Suffolk, now to see if I can finish trimming down the DEM to size...
