Should K&L Trainz partner with Steam/N3V to release their content from 2014 to Now?

I think anyone who is already selling content is silly not putting it up on the trainz store. Trainz takes a lot from each sale (50%) but the amount of gold and silver memberships that end up enabling payware just because it becomes free to them more than offsets the cut that N3V take.
How does taking a 50% cut and then all Gold and Silver members getting the item for free benefit K&L in any way?

Because every time a gold and silver member activate a payware item (and this continues monthly and is related to how much it is used) - the creator gets a royalty slice. It ends up being more than what those who buy it outright contribute to the payware content, and it just keeps ticking over for as long as people have them installed. For most Gold/Silver members, because it's free for them to install they only need a tiny, tiny interest in it to install and they've just activated a payment to the creator.

I think this could make like an interesting case because K&L's content is so high quality but the bigger what if would they be open to having their content be more well known but as Railwood said their choice.
