Set route but manually drive

I need help in locating the command in Trainz 2010 that allows me to set a route from a town to another town and passing through a junction enroute. Normally I would use "Drive to" or "Navigate to" but they do not allow manual driving.

Manually driving requires me to check all the points are set correctly before the train gets to the junction and I would like an automatic process to do that for me.

Thanks

There is a Set Junction rule that you could use - it would set all the junctions you identify to default positions that you define. They can be locked or unlocked in that state. Leaving a junction unlocked would allow an AI train to set a junction for its passage but then reset it to its default position after use.

Thanks for the suggestion as I didn’t realise that was possible and I have learnt something so I will experiment with that suggestion.

Sorry everyone but I did not fully explain myself in the first post in that I need to change the route during the game and than set another extra third route during the same game. Freight train A takes the normal route to the freight yard at the town at the far end; train B diverts off to the branch line mid along the route and passenger train C follows train A to the far end but diverts through the platform road at the far town instead of the freight yard that train A took.

Thus I need to set route for train A, change route for train B and reset route after train B so train C can follow train A with extra diversion through platform instead of freight yard at far end. All three trains start at the same yard.

Location Casino NSW on Peter Gibbon's route; All trains enter Casino from South. Train A to Kyogle and QLD, Train B diverts to Lismore branch and passenger train C north to Kyogle but uses the passenger platforms at Casino and Kyogle.

Thanks

Hi Petan - There is a rule called Path rule built into TS2010 which allows you to set up a path fron A to B. You can create several paths.
It has a companion driver command "Path Control" which you use to select which path to follow.

After selecting the path in Driver you can either drive the train yourself or use Autopilot to let the AI driver do it for you

Hope this helps

Thanks Trevor as that command function also is something new that I was not explored yet :D

You can also do it, by using triggers and the "check trackside" rule and relate each train to specific triggers. More complicated, but fun to explore.

Thanks Chrisjohn as that is another trick I was not aware of that either. ;) Some thoughtful folk have certainly "opened my eyes" to new skills during this thread ;)

Thanks
