Just wanting to know if there is any news as to when the SP 4 for TS2009 will be made available?
No, we haven't announced the scheduling of SP4 yet.

On the serious note, I'd really lke Auran to stick to some plan/roadmap that they would share with the community, because, well, I'd prefer them to release Service Packs for at least TS 2009/2010 until they fix all the major (and possibly minor) faults. Releasing a new version of Trains each year is definitely not the schedule I am looking for. Fix those bugs, introduce new features/plugins and charge your customers for NEW CONTENT/FEATURES, not new versions each year or even 18 months.
Of course, I understand, that some new features would deserve a completely new core/version of Trainz, but, again, abandoning older versions (like Trainz 2006 with its inferior CMP that will never get fixed) is not an option in my book. Make existing software work then move on to the next version, I'd say.
This proposed roadmap should include dates similar to what most operating system developers use: alpha/beta stage - release date - support period (fixes, Service Packs, content is offered on free basis) - extended support period (additional purchased features and content) - end of life.

I thought it was anounced that TS2010 was TS2009 SP4.
So, what about TS2009 SP3?? Isn't it a not free add on pack?
TS2009 SP1 and SP2 were release quite a while back.
TS2009 SP3 is in the process of being released currently.
TS2009 SP4 will be released in the future.
TS2010 is not TS2009.
TS2010 SP1 was a small fix shortly after release to resolve some critical compatibility issues.
TS2010 SP2 will be released in the future.

Will i bought 2009 and had to get someone to updated it to build 40040 what update/SP did i get ?
Had to get someone with hi-speed Internet because Auran would not sell me or make me a DVD of the update even those i bought the Box Vinson of the game. (i had dial up at the time)
Just ordered 2010 will i get the SP 1with it or will i have to DL it too ?

I just ordered TR2010 myself and then downloaded SP1 for it. Only took a couple of minutes. I gave away my TRS2004 to my son to take to the Middle East with him since I had TRS2006. Now the TRS2006 cd has gone bad. So im without Trainz until TR2010 gets here. Had to format my hd and didnt know about the cd until it was too late.
I've been trying to find anything TR2010 on the DLS and so far came up empty.

Well now it's been a long time that the SP3 is released, so maybe it will be released december 2010 o early 2011 !
According to the 2009 Forum SP4 has been released.

The full details are in that thread, but be aware of potential bugs in it as it has not yet been added to the autopatcher (from what I can see)
Also, be aware of a couple of major changes before installing the patch.
Firstly (TS2010 users will already be aware of this program) TADDaemon will be added to your TS2009 installation. Users will have to wait a few minutes between closing down TS2009 and shutting down their system (there is an option in the Trainz Options box (developer tab) that allows users to see when TADDaemon has finished, as it makes it's window visible.
Secondly, Content Manager will be updated to ver 3.3, which allows TS2010 content to be used in TS2009.
