Nothing is more important than our customers period. Let's not forget here we had real jobs... It was the customers who dictated where that would go and here we are. We had to either stop production at JR or go full time, it was no longer an option to continue as we were. Since then we have hired full time employees that require a paycheck every single week, I can tell you that's not cheap. And as far as the community goes I would say it's just as friendly as any other times. There are arguments and disagreements and people move on. What has changed is the ruthless gimmie gimmie gimmie all the time for free. You wonder why there is nothing you consider great as freeware?? Well let's see... Creator A releases a nice model for free. Then the emails start pouring in for requests, most of them are nice but there are plenty that are just plain rude. Then you tell someone you can't make that for free right now and they throw a fit. We're not the only ones who are sick of this behavior, most of the senior members here are too. I think we have a pretty good balance of freeware and payware. To think someone should not be compensated for their time and efforts in insane... Are you willing to work for free at your job? Didn't think so. Neither are we. Our prices also have not changed since day 1, and we don't overcharge for our models. It's more than fair if you ask me...

Remember how disgraceful we are when you are downloading all of our freeware too by the way....

So you're inferring that 3D modelling isn't a real job? That's what I got from that statement. Also, it sounds like your trying to understate the creator, making it seem like the consumer is actually better than the creator. I thought you said that everybody should act like they're equal here...hmm. Your whole argument above collapsed on itself when you stated that.

Do yourself a favor, and go back and read again.. The main point is you 3D modellers think you are better than the customer....

Nobody is better than anyone else, it's not a contest. Where you get this I have no idea. We wanted to make trainz content, there was a void in this market and we are trying to fill it. Pretty simple.

Wow! I just don't understand some people. I like all the freeware but I also like all the payware. Without all the great payware I have I don't think I would be playing this game anymore. I'm glad Mike and Justin quit their jobs and made jointedrail their full time job. I get what I want and so do they. Remember you don't have to buy payware if you don't want to.

We 3D modellers? Who is we? I got your main point. BUT you marred your point by stating that if it wasn't for the customers, we'd all have to get real jobs, whatever a real job is supposed to mean.

So you're inadvertently stating that 3D modelling isn't a real job. Which, then infers that those who have a job (other than 3D modelling), are better than those that use 3D modelling as their primary income. Unless, that's not what you meant.

well i dont really want to get into this fight cause I know everyones gonna rip me a new one but I might as well, Chris is like 17 and well even I bet u at that time didnt have a job, im 13 and dont got one so lay off!

Well to enlighten, I do not have a job yet, as I am still a bit too young.. But maybe these people should be a bit more compassionate towards those of whom who have a family where you have 3 other siblings, 2 of which have classic Autism, and struggle to put food on the table.... I bet Nick nor Justin could not survive a day in my feet...

nice try. I have my own family, a wife and a kid, another on the way, i don't need some teen who doesn't even have a job telling me how life works. maybe when you grow up a little bit you can give your input on it, but not now. all of your comments make much more sense now.

Well maybe you should spend less time ridiculing others, for what they do for a living, and focus on yourself instead. Doesn't sound to me like you are in any kind of dire straits with your references to Porches. If I had financial problems, a Porsche would be the last thing I would be focusing on.

I get it, I was just defending my friend, im very defensive for my friends, maybe that means im a bad person or not, its just what meh parents taught me....... But I still rsepect JR and all they do! I maust say that by buying their engine made me want to make high quality routes for them. I will always respect JR.
