Screenshots of Reskinned Locomotives

What is the "RULE" on posting srceenshots of locomotives you have re-skinned for your own use...even payware that you DO NOT intend on releasing?

My view is if its not released theres no rule against it. People are way too uptight about reskinning in this game imho, in MSTS reskinning of payware is common practice, just distribute without the shape file and everyones happy. Well maybe not if you do a skin the original producer was planning on doing, but for fictional skins I dont see an issue.

Thought i was going to see sum of your work for a minute there Dave, Go for it i reckon.
Cheers Mick.:D
P.S On second thought's Dave maybe make your own Rules so as to save this Thread from being closed or turning into a "Where did ya get that at" or "Can i have that".
1) If your going to post a pic of your work tell everyone if it's available or not.
2) Where it is at if it is available.
Lot of great Talent out there in the Community so it would be great too see everyone's work.

Reskinned (faded) patch & weathered from JR Conrail SD60M.

PM me for any skin texture files you see here, and wish to have. If necessary (upon your request) I will include a readme on cloning and replacing textures.

Cheers,
Joshua

ex. SR Ps4 #1337. Bought by the Highland Valley RR. exists today as an excursion loco along with #1330.

No no no. . . . What I'm talking about are Locos that say in the Config file --- stuff like --- "This Locomotive is non-reskinable" or--- "No Reskins permitted." Even "NO RESKINS UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. Or we'll call the local Police and confiscate your PC."

Nice shots! I have a question. I have trainz paint shed, but I can only skin built-in items. How do I skin a SD70ACE that I downloaded?

Paintshed is ONLY for reskinning your built in content. If you want to reskin a sd70ace, you might have to use photoshop, Irfanview, or any other good picture editing software.

Is anyone out there going to seriously answer my question? i.e. "What I'm talking about are Locos that say in the Config file --- stuff like --- "This Locomotive is non-reskinable" or--- "No Reskins permitted." Even "NO RESKINS UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. Or we'll call the local Police and confiscate your PC." I would like to post screenshots, but almost all my locomotives are my own re-skins and I don't want to make anyone mad, or get into any trouble.

Thanks

If anyone is really going to take legal action against you for changing an item you paid for, then they have serious problems. I'd say go ahead and post pictures, because you're not giving them out, and you paid good money for them.

The act of reskinning seems to be too often replaced with releasing a skin. Its not the act of reskinning they are discourageing, but rather the releasing part. It is a rather poor choice of words on their part. In short, Its not illegal for you to skin things, you downloaded this content as part of YOUR private property, even though you do not have the rights of intellectual property, you still have the writes to modify YOUR personal copy of the content for YOUR exclusive use...

cheers

Does anyone by anychance know what file you use tho edit the back nose of SPORBUST's C44-9w?

Also, i need someone to help me with a tutorial on how to take a skin item off a locomotive, while leaving the lines, and how to add a new one?

EDIT: Here is what i have so far:

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

Currently it is a Heritage 2 BNSF C44-9w desparately trying to be in the BNSF Wedge Scheme (painted it black, ready for Wedge), but it needs a re-logo, and some numberboard fixing, aswell as a couple of extra parts painted black that i cant find for some reason, and a whole rear-end repaint.

Anyone want to help?
:D

But showing that screenshot on here or any part of the web is a form of distribution so you are removing that exclusive use excuse . You are still in breach of copyright .

WOW...I so wish someone could put that design on a GP38-2 like this loco here, and name it as shown :'(
*Love the pic!*

Do you own one of JointedRail's GP38's?

EDIT-To nexusdj- Dicey at best. How else can I show off MY work,(the skin) as a BMP? That would be a thrill. Besides, who on here is making content that has enough money to throw away on a lawyer over such a thin technicality?
