Screens that Kujo and or MSTS2 could never produce

If you want to fly planes, then why not use Microsoft Flight Simulator?

I have to admit, KRS looks great, and if you have watched the video tutorial you will see that it has some great features too, particularly concerning track-laying.

I have stuck with Trainz since 2004, have had MSTS from the very beginning, and have used train sims since the days of the ZX Spectrum (admittedly in those days it was just a black screen with words!) but I am being swayed by KRS....

Hmm.. I might just join the 'Dark Side' after all!

Best wishes,
Padster.

I admire and respect those that push the limits of Trainz, and the Dreddman does this to perfection.

I also think that those that swear allegiance to one SIM or another are foolish. No one asked for loyalty, no oath was required upon purchase. If I ever have any "extra money" ( I know...the two words are mutually exclusive) I may purchase KRS or MSTSII myself.

Ed;)

If we have money in our pockets - let's buy both! That way everyone's happy and we can all have the best of both worlds.

Hoorah! Problem solved, etc...

Whatever you think, one thing's for sure, the RS community is going to start moving with some speed now that our cousins in North America can have a play...

Looks like good times ahead for fans of train simulators of all persuasions!

exactly my sentiments, use what you want to use... HOWEVER, seeing as this is a forum for TRS, why is everyone continually talking about other simulators???

or shouldnt I ask :o

I think if you're attracted to this community then you're probably a fan of railways in general. That being the case, I think it's perfectly natural for people to want to discuss the pros and cons of other sims. Just because we support TRS doesn't mean we can't appreciate anything else. Indeed, it's in our own interests to take a closer look at other stuff - especially content creators - if only to learn from it.

:)

yeah good point Perch, just seems to be more and more threads about other sims, not thast im complaining mind...

or am i? :o

I personally think that it's a crying shame that other companies products are being BLATANTLY promoted and advertised on Auran's forum, especially as they are chief competitors. They must be laughing their heads off at all the FREE PUBLICITY, whilst Auran struggles on financially...some people have no business acumen obviously, otherwise they wouldn't allow this to happen.
Would you see ice hockey, basketball or football websites allowing people to promote other teams on their websites? DEFINATELY NOT, so why should people be allowed to advertise other companies train sim products on this website then ?????

AURAN RULEZ.......OK...

Yes, I agree. I sometimes feel like not deserving this forum... and furthermore after reading the Kujuan RS Forum rules.

Instances:

...

  • Links to other sites, personal or not, are not allowed, nor is discussion about them. Restrict your posting to matters about 'Rail Simulator Support' only. General discussion is not permitted on these forums. Alternative community sites are available for such discussion.

  • Do NOT try to degrade or discredit Rail Simulator or any other products, their developers and websites, or their customers. This includes slander and other offensive comments.
This forum is suicidally open-minded. :hehe:

With the greatest respect Ex-railwayman, it's precisely that kind of blinkered, thick-headed approach to development that makes things fail. You sound like the kind of person who wants to build a wall around the TRS community in the belief that this will somehow protect it from the big, bad world outside.

You're wrong.

I've supported TRS and this community since long before the first Trainz product hit the shelves - and I will continue to do so. However, I see no reason why people in this forum cannot share thoughts and impressions about other products - competitors or otherwise - if such debate helps this community move forward.

We are going nowhere if we just stand around and ignore what the "competition" are doing.

Yes, P_P, agreed. That's what will happen to Kujuan RS with that kind of shut-your-mouth forum they have. ;) The farthest to friendly I know, and I do know a lot of forums.

agreed with PP.
Until now Auran forum is the friendliest of all the forums.
This is as it should remain.

Tolerance toward others is strength.

So we can make up for all the people we've kicked off of our forums by waiting for more support? Great! Lets see how long this should last on what is essentially the SAME product as TRS2004 with a maroon/red HUD and less content! :D

It always was intended to be such a forum, but every so often some member gets to feelin' like (s)he owns the place and wreaks havoc! Aside from some disputes I and a few others had with a certain forum member a year or so ago, I have had no problems with anyone around here!:)
