I have been running this since it finished updating around 1am BST.

Apart from some pretty graphics and locos lurching around unconvincingly.

There isn't really much to say.

Trainz still out performs it from an operational realism point of view.

If N3V could just dump their outdated game engine and join the rest of the gaming world in 2011.

They wouldn't have much to worry about from the competition.

Hi Jamie,

don't listen to me mate, it is only my own opinion.

Some pics which i think show some anomolies.

First two pics UK Paddington - Oxford............

Heavy rain on windscreen but outside it is only raining very lightly.

There is also no evidence of the platforms or surrounding area's becoming wet with the rainfall.

Last four pics......Cajon Pass route..........

I think TS12 actually shows distant terrain ( mountains ) better than RW3.

I would be very interested to see what the TS12 US users think.

No updates to the cabs as far as i can see, except for improved lighting and shadows.

What is the point of this thread?

I go to Railworks America for Railworks or TrainSim.com

What is the point? Do we need a Railworks bashing thread? No one cares on Railworks America about Trainz.

What now a bunch of "I won't buy that" responses?

Harold

Has anyone noticed when you are driving in the cab that the entire engine is swaying back and forth and bouncing up and down?? I think that's a great new feature of RW3

You always get one lemon that just has to try and stir things up.

I don't particularly care about you or your opinions.

But i am stuck with having to put up with them.

I haven't seen any bashing myself, just an opinion posted by myself and asking for feedback.

This is a total waste of bandwidth.

I guess the "fanboy spammers" haven't woken up yet to fill this with drivel.

Quoted before you can edit.

No, I am not a XXXboy and I do not eat SPAM.

Is there anything that makes you happy?

IsambardKingdomBrunel, may I advise you that you are likely to get warned or possibly have the images altered, as they are too large for this part of the forum (max: 800 x 600)

If you require larger, only the Screenshots forum allows larger images (and the relevant screenshot forums in the foreign language section)

Yeah, TS2010, I even recommended it over RW2 over on TrainSim.com

Harold

Just bought "Horseshoe Curve" for RW3, WOW!!!!

Yeah, I know Failworks is payware but WOOOOOOOOOOOW!!

EK3 was great but this beats even that!!!!!

There seem to be a lot of issues with RW3, even some of the regular defenders are posting problems at UKTS.

From the .net install borking Windows and requiring a Windows Update run, to what seems to be horrible optimisation of the "new" graphics engine oh and a nasty uncoupling bug this does not seem to have been tested that much.

No track rules to use superelevation out the box (it seems).

What I've seen so far today was not enough to divert me from building my current TS2009 route, though I will investigate when the bugs are sorted...

I haven't bothered to download it, let me know if they ever fix it so it can do this;

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GAZFDTHU-bc

Adam claimed the locked switches in RW are a result of trying to run AI traffic in free roam instead of a standard scenario, I'm still waiting for him or anyone else to prove that the player can throw a manual switch between two AI trains running 30 minutes apart in a standard scenario. Easily done in Trainz, impossible in RW.

Shadows, from this in RW2:

to this in RW3:

Magically with no help from me

Harold

RW3 runs fair on my laptop. A tad bit laggy but not that much. With some adjusting with the settings, it should run smoother. If trainz had these graphics, it would be even better. But anyways, in my opinion, trainz is already the best train simulator.

Thanks for that information Vern, and to Mike for posting his findings after downloading the new version earlier today, obviously some things still not right then, even for a free download for original Railworks customers. I think I'll sit tight for a bit and await further responses.

Cheerz. Steve.

RW3 ruined my jubilees, berkshires, and genesis diesels. It lagged way too much. I liked RW2 better. But, I have found Trainz to be more stable however.

Please forgive me as I have commited a sin - running the PRR Horseshoe Curve route in Railworks 3 instead of working on my NYCTA subway system in TS12 today.

Say three hail N3Vs and you'll be back on the streets with Father Rivera.
(George Carlin fans over 40 will get it.)
