Russian Locomotives and Routes

Anyone knows a site that has freeware Russian loco's and routes? It's hard for me to search knowing I can't read Cyrillic.

Anyone who has direct download links or knows sites that use Latin letters.... Many thanks!!:D

Last time I counted there was at least 37 good Russian/Eastern European Trainz site to download loco's & good content from. Here's just a few sites to get you started;

http://railroadsim.net/ru/downloads/trainz --- http://www.trainz.ru/index.php?action=download&category=3&game=2 --- http://trainz.ucoz.com/ --- http://www.trainsim.ru/ --- http://tsmteam.ru/download/ER2T/ --- http://ukrtrainz.at.ua/ --- http://uzd-life.ucoz.ru/load/ --- http://southzd.ucoz.ru/ --- http://neoklai.ucoz.ru/load/ ---
http://stacjazary.pl/viewpage.php?page_id=6 --- http://750mm.trainzup.com/ --- http://www.railroad-club.narod.ru/mvps.htm --- http://easttrainz.clan.su/load/0-2 --- http://trainzsernobil.ucoz.ru/news/2 --- http://relsomania.ucoz.ru/load/ --- http://gomer-trainz.ucoz.ru/ (there are dozens more, just click on some of the sites "partner" links to go to a few of them not listed here)...

A word of warning; - Most (95%+) of this 3rd party content is not on the DLS, so if you are route building and plan to upload your route to the DLS, I would not recommend that you download and install any of this 3rd party (non-DLS) content...

Put into plan English for the newbies; If you are planning on building a route and plan to upload the route to the DLS, then please stick to only "built in" content & "DLS" content...
There is nothing worst than downloading a route/layout, only to find that there is 100's of missing 3rd party, non DLS content in it... Missing/broken assets is one of the more frustrating parts of our beloved Trainz...

There's over 65 - 70 gigs of non DLS content out there in the global world of "3rd party" - non DLS Trainz's. I know because I have downloaded well over 80+ gigs from 3rd party sites over the last 5+ years. At a rough guest, about 80 to 85% of that content is not on the DLS...

Cheers, Mac...

There are links to a couple of good Russian sites down near the bottom of my homepage (click my sig banner). I also have a small freelance Russian-themed narrow gauge route on my site that might be worth a look. It definitely works as intended up to build 49922, after that you are on your own! The post regarding third party content isn't quite right - the vast majority of Russian (and also European) routes are distributed with all necessary 3rd party content included.

The Cyrillic difficulties can be largely overcome by using either Chrome or IE with Google toolbar, either of those will translate entire pages. You will also find Russian language forums (of which there are several) uniformly helpful. One thing with the forums - post in English and wait for bi-lingual help. DON'T post via a translation program, the resultant translation will be laughably inaccurate...

Good luck - discovering Russian content and the Russian Trainz communities has been one of the most pleasant aspects of my Trainz endeavours....

Be careful what Russian route you download off the DLS. The one I tried was one by Eugenesoda. It listed in the Routes menu in Russian not English [forget the kuid of it now and cant read cryllic] and the download was just on 2 Gb. It I didn't know it at the time as but it was a multiplayer although I would swear that it didn't show that before I downloaded it I finally got it going as a standalone session and the scenery was stunning. Sharp and clear one of the better routes I have seen but then I tried to save the session and that was where it all went wrong. I dont know if instructions are in crylliic and my game only reads English but I corrupted my install and this weekend will be deleting my Ts 12 install and having to re install it all again Minus that Russian route of course. I don't know if it was something I did or it was a conflict caused by language but they certainly have some stuff of high Quality.

Whatever "corrupted your Trainz install" had nothing to do with downloading a route - any route - from the DLS. Your assertion that you 'need to be careful downloading Russian stuff' is just silly. Turning one experience into a warning against the contributions of an entire National community is even sillier. And a Russian route with session instructions in Russsian is -erm - normal!

hello, nimec. I know Eugenesoda. I know him personally. I played with him in the MP. we - Russian, so we need to play in the MP folder with weight 9 GB. but believe me, if you install it, you're just going so pleasantly surprised that you want to play with us. we have so many beautiful and interesting map!here's another video Russian fictional map. this is how we play in multiplayer

Dermmy - I find your comments very offensive and bordering on abusive. Read my post again, slowly. LeGress - Thanks for the youtube links. As I said in my post, you certainly have some stuff of high quality and the utube videos surely illustrated that. My problem was, as I said, that the route I downloaded didn't show it was a MP route as far as I could see. Consequently when I managed to run it in single player mode to test it, then saved it, it corrupted my game and my comment to 'watch what you download' was addressed to the originator of this thread. i.e be careful you don't download an MP route if that is not what you want. Pretty simple really. To some people anyway As I said I was impressed by the quality of the scenery and the graphics etc, however MP is not for me at this stage. As you are a friend of eugenesoda, please pay my respects to him for his work, it is of excellent quality, but ask him if he has a single player version of his route. The one with KDA at the end of it. I'm sure there are other trainzers who like the quality of the Russian routes but are not quite into MP yet and would appreciate his work in single player. Cheers

Hello MixFight52 - I am not sure what you mean nor what KDA means. If you are saying that it is MP and you will help[ if I come to you for help, thanks but I do not have the time for Multi Player. There was some else in this thread who was looking for Russian single player as well. Cheers

I'm sorry, but, I'm confused what you mean by single player ???

Every route on the DLS can be played individually, first person, single player, whatever you want to call it, in TS12 you just need to turn off the Multiplayer function, I have on all my routes, irrespective, of what description they have in the config. txt, I'm never online when I play Trainz anyway to alleviate any possible corruptions from taking place and I have downloaded all of the Russian routes available for my TS12, most of them I found out are the same layout basically that have been extended, or, duplicated, but I haven't had any problems playing on them, so, if your game has become corrupted, then I appreciate your problem, but, hardly think it's everyone else's fault, and I cannot understand why folks downloading routes from the DLS should have any problems if they have all of the missing assets, any hard drive corruption is for you to deal with, if you aren't sure what to do, come on here with all your error messages and we'll attempt to help you out, but, please don't hassle any veteran Trainzers who have a long understanding of how the various Trainz versions work, we have more knowledge and experience than players who've only been around for a short time.

Cheerz. ex-railwayman.
