Rude Driverz: How to Modify Regions?

I know that there is apparently no way of stopping suicidal drivers from crossing into oncoming lanes of traffic for no apparent reason on the roads in Trainz. But I recently changed the region of a layout to "Word Traffic Region Mix Std" because at least if they are going to be suicidal, they are doing it in a more interesting variety of vehicles.

The problem I am having is that there is a LOT of horn honking. While not a terrible thing to have the occasional honking, it gets really irritating when they are doing it every couple of seconds in Surveyor. Other than turning the sound off while working on a layout, is there any way of either eliminating the honking or changing the frequency without losing the other ambient sounds?

And while I am at it, how would one go about adding vehicles to the mix?

Thanks!

Other than turning off the sound... Well you could do the following:

1) Clone the region you are using so you have your own copy.

2) Look at the config.txt for your cloned region and write or print out the portion that has all the automobiles and trucks and Kuids in it.

3) Clone each individual car, truck, bus, etc.

4) Edit each and every one of these copies and remove the sound container. That will kill the sound.

5) Edit your cloned region and replace all the kuids for those of your modified cars.

I think it's easier to turn the sound of! :)

Dang! That was what I was afraid of...I was hoping there was some universal setting in the region config that told the cars when to honk. I can turn the sound off for Surveyor, but it spoils the effect in Driver! Oh well...thanks for replying!

You could turn off the traffic while you're working in surveyor, just remember to enable it when you're saving then turn it back off when you're working.
