sawasdee krup...
Looking fantastic, really มหัศจรรย์ Roy... Keep up the great work. Any updated screen shoots?
Just looking how large & detailed the route is Roy to date, I'm surprised you haven't hit the 2 gigs limit yet, or is that why you are splitting the route up???

Luv Koh Chang Island. (had many nite's partying on Kai Bae Beach a decade or so ago)...
kop koon. Cheers, Mac... :udrool:

morning Mac,

sorry for the late reply but I not check all the trheads every day.
Haha you love KC yeh that's a nice place but now we live most of the time in the NE at the foot of the Phu Pan mnts near Khao Wong. We have 2 homes and KC we will sell when the crisis is over in 7 years or so.
Back to trainz: I had to split it coz you hit the Auran limit in the program. It is running smooth though but cannot brake the 2 gig mem they use when loading parts.
Each map is about 600 to 800 MB only greater Vancouver is at the moment 150 mb and not finished. I do all the work now in TS2009. Its amazing how nice the I portals work yes its not fully automatic but who cares and the line is so busy and large that you can spend easily days in each map fooling around/
Sadly the DMdrakes tress I altered for winter do not work well in TS2009 I have to wait till Auran or DMdrake change them. In the meantime I change the trees to Jankvis single trees i.o. the handy splines. It looks though that the splines eat more mem than single ones with 2009 but I might be wrong just an impression not checked really.
Most work I have in TS2009 is not the scenery but repairing the many missing and faulty stuff I use from the DLS. Otherwise things are running fine to excellent.
One of these days I will post videos from the Greater Vancouver tests and further.
So far from a beautiful cold night thailand (14C)

Golden yard 4

for some reason I seem to lose for yet unknown reason all my imageshack picts(connections) here....man is there something working right away without the devils fork pitch my ass.:confused::confused:
5 minutes ago all the posted images were gone only the refs I could see in the post but no graphics. I rebooted and see now they all show as nothing had happened before.
Is there a glitch on the forum server regarding posting picts I've not heard of or something else I not aware of???
thanks for any hint.....

I have one question: If you have a huge yard like yours, and load it up with hundereds of cars and locos ... can that make your video card run hotter than normal, and cause it to burn out ?

I had the Cumberland to Connellsville route, with lots of cars on a huge train ... that is when my video card suddenly went.

I suppose it was about time for it to go, as it was from 2007, and was a 400 watt video card, running on a 300 watt power supply.

But it was just a coincidence that when I put 786 locos and 14,763 freightcars all spread out on a route ... I started having video card problems.

BTW: I went the least expensive way, and didn't upgrade to a 400-500 watt power supply.

I just bought the best 300 watt video card, that my PC's factory 300 watt power supply could handle.

This route looks great !

Penny wise and pound foolish

CCRR don't get me wrong on this but when i read your reply and see your computer components fry not because of what they suppose to deliver but you know what I mean .......
You can buy a huge Mac truck and pull it with horses.
Big stuff needs big stuff computers and power and lots of patience to figure out how and how far it works and I have to confess in the contrary of most trainzers opinions!!!! IT WORKS no not at high speeds but at sufficient (:)18fps) speeds to enjoy the spectacular moments of the views and things going on on the route.
Still I CONDAMN Auran for restricting the draw distance for the sake of very small computers no to crash kust let them as they also have to spent time like us to make Trainz grow and show its the best Simulator in the world right now and thanks to all the contributors out there who make this work and look more and more detailed like the real world.
Auran get your stuff sorted out and give us Trainz Black ops the power of trainz draw distance to decide ourselves where to crash it.
On my routes 90% I can handle easy 8km draw distance without Auran's restriction screwing the view (not to much) but when getting as in this route around the city of Golden and the huge yard it just makes me cry seeing the wonderful surroundings dash after already built by the program because some really ****** idiot over there decided to make it like sitting in the CAb and have only a few hundred mtr or 1km view restriction and never the cab or free camera view it could be.
ough that's out there......
Back to my work thanks for the compliment and thanks to Brittany, Pofig,Jan, Phil and many others who made this possible.
Today I am uploading a short video impression(test) of the golden yard approach(6 min) just to see if people (trainzers) even look at it.
Sometimes I get the feeling they look always somewhere else to sniffle bark and bite when they get that itchy urge on the forum.

Youtube video release of Golden approach uploaded and ready

For those interested in 5 min video of this approach to Golden yard follow this link

please let me know your first and 2nd impression.
Nothing is tricked all straight forward as is. the lags is typical for Trainz and other simulators.
At the end there is a black part which I forgot to delete at the end of the movie sorry for that inconvenience.

regards

Yes the water in the river is moving IN TRAINZ 2011

At first I thought the river water was moving ... and wondered if you hit the lottery, and bought a whirlybird to take videos of real trains:cool:

No lottery ticket but an old object from long ago I used already in I think 2004 or 2006 yes you can make water move it eat fps but the view is that much more realistic if you ask me.

don't know the real meaning of that saying

CCRR what you mean by this quote " and bought a whirlybird to take videos of real trains:cool:" My english is not that good to understand the real meaning of it.

so you could see the video right on youtube. Not to much lags??

He's saying that it looks as if you've taken your video from a helicopter in real life, and I must say, his compliment is spot on. This route looks excellent, really top quality:D I'm sure you could spend days running on it. Are you finished or have you still got work to do?

Wow thank you guys that is a hell of a compliment

Well it is trainz as real as it gets.
Sorry but you have to spent some time before you get this out of the hat!
Yes I get over and over again more excited seeing the absolute qualtiy we can reach now with Trainz 2010 in 2011 with all the good content native quality only if possible.

Most credit goes to Brittany for her Ultra treez collection which is absolut superb and sad she not continue.
Second to Jan and Pofig for the "freeware" ST items which makes it very realistic even with less high detailed quality like Ultra does.
Last but not least to PHil for his Transdem prog I use since TRS 2004 started which allows the surrounding mountains after a lot of give and take of corrections to what works and what is obselete in the landscape.
Its huge and that is what makes it looks different than all the others out there who make 2 to 3 or 4 boards wide layouts which kills the idea of real trainzing right from the beginning for me.
Enough said and more videos will follow.

thanks again guys and girls

Roy;)
