Is this DEM based?
Is it freeware?
How done is it?

this is not a route, this is trainz future made yesterday for tomorrow.
It anticipates on the believe of faster and better hw and trainz growing too.
TS 2009 I believe is the reincarnation of trainz where many people waited for.
Vancouver Calgary project is not big, its huge without compromises to the landscape as this is the main attraction and focus: mountains, valleys, spectacular views, national parks and yes trainz.
For TRS 2006 I split it into 3(maybe 4) sections to make it enjoyable:
- Calgary,AB to Field,BC
- Field,BC to Lytton,BC
- Lytton,BC to Vancouver (Horseshoe Bay and south to White Rock to US border)
I strongly believe that i portals will play a crucial role in trainz future.
- it would allow (if properly scripted) to interface seamless between sections (acceptable size for gnd files for smooth trainzing)
- it would allow to map an entire railroad by many users and use the portal what it should be ment for intelligently. eg. I start in Calgary and my final destination is Vancouver it will go to the portal out on the Calgary map and instantly write a ' consist drive to final destination map' file for the nearest map to continue the journey. Arriving at the portal out the disappearance of the train triggers the map to close and open the corresponding 'portal in' in the next * gnd file. once this model is opened it received a copy of the original manifest and allows to plot the track to the next portal out if not the final destination map.
- Anybody can make a map that could correspond via the portals where you can play and look around even if the model is of a different kind of quality, its up to the user to explore and judge his preferred portal links!
- I plan if Trainz support my idea to map this CPR line from West to east.
- I am retired now for almost 10 years and enjoy more and more trainz modeling and hoped and waited for something like TS2009 to pick up again. I also run this stuff on KRS but this sw is no match not even close to trainz besides the better cosmetic .I hope TS 2009 fulfill this part of the game.
I started a few years ago with TRS2004 and modeled Hoboken New Jersey stuff also running on 2006.
I used microdem, Hog and finally super Tranzdem sw which greatly improved the work on the project.
Freeware or payware there is some work and love in this project that I leave it up to the imagination of the readers what should be fair and reasonable. the Americans had there all American(credit card) dreams shattered by greed, ignorance and stupidity and dragged the whole world into the trash can. I never gamble and are extremely careful with my savings but where exposed like anybody else too. We did not do anything wrong, someone else did and we pay for it. there goes my little pension.
Ok trainzers if you like my thoughts, work, idea drop me a line and see what we can do. Although I see to get exposure to my stuff and plans here on the forum is another pair of shoes. I am not part of a forum gang or group which I think is flourishing ever since and they can make you or brake you.
