Route Map Orientation?

I rotate the view so that north is at the top. The unfortunate part is it's not permanent and it needs to be done often if I've been editing and moving around a lot. It would be nice if there was an option for this - a checkbox in the General Settings menu with "Do not rotate map view", or something like that. I recommend putting that into the Suggestion Boxcar and see how far it flies. The dev team does take a look at the stuff in there.

Is there a way to reorient route maps to the conventional North on the top?

The short answer is No, the long answer is Sorta. You can remake or orientate at 90, 180 and 270 degrees from original. If you open the editor, you can use the copy and paste tool. Lay out some new baseboards next to the current map. Select a few baseboards, I would not do more than 3 at a time. Select them, press paste, use the rotate dial to one of the 3 alternate orientations. Then on the blank baseboards paste them. It will take a few minutes for the editor to complete the task. Be very careful to paste them exactly how you found them. You will need to go back and edit the spliced pieces and reconnect them. Also, some splines on the joints won't carry over and you will need to replace them. Check after each paste that you have laid it correctly, then save before doing the next section. It's very tedious and basically you are editing a new map. That is why the short answer is No. Here is an example on a small map;

I think in this case it is broke but the cure is worse than the pain.
If we can imagine we are driving a real train on a little PC, then reorienting the map in our minds should be easy.
Thanks..
