Revert to earlier version of asset

At some point I've downloaded updated versions of a few assets by rox (not on the DLS) that have obseleted packaged versions of them. The newer versions are showing some issues in the logs and I'd like to revert back to the packaged versions. I thought I could simply delete the newer versions and edit my route's config file to refer to the earlier versions, which would then make the previously obsoleted ones 'active' again. However, when I load my route the 'missing asset' outlines appear instead.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Delete the downloaded ones. That should revert back to your packaged assets because they will be the primary version. If you have to, right-click on the packages and choose Revert to original if they show modified.

Interesting that none of these ideas worked. In the end I used Surveyor 1 to bulk replace to something different, then deleted the updated assets and bulk updated back to the originals.

One mistake in your initial attempts was to think that manually editing the Route config file (presumably the kuid-table section) would stop the Route using the unwanted versions of those assets.

With routes, the kuid-table is just a “print-out” of all the kuid references contained in various map or ground files of the route, and those files cannot be manually edited. Every time you open and save the Route, it re-generates and overwrites the kuid-table with kuids of assets actually used on the Route.

This is why, as you discovered, bulk asset replacement in Surveyor is the proper way to go. It changes the kuids in the Route’s source files, and those changes then show up in the config file when you save the edited Route.
