I've recently after several years been getting back into Trainz. I have a lot to catch up on it seems. Anyways, after reinstalling almost all my old content I used (Essentially all JR freeware items, a lot of payware stuff, and then HP-Trainz Marias Pass route) I've decided I am tired of TS2012 and want to upgrade. My reason is because the stupid "Updating Trainz Asset Database" thing I get every single time I start the game. It's what got me to quit the game before, and I hoped since I was on a new pc it wouldn't be an issue now but nope, I still get it and it still takes my game an hour or 2 or sometimes even more to start because of it. So today, when I went to the store page to buy T:ANE, I noticed TS2019 is for sale in early access. Here is where my question lies. Should I buy T:ANE now and upgrade to 2019 later or just buy 2019 now? If 2019 works with JR content already I will just buy it instead of T:ANE, but if it doesn't I'd prefer to buy T:ANE because I do not have the patience to be totally honest because I have been urging to get my hands on those new routes you guys got, especially the Tidewater Point and Legacy of the BN. Eventually I just want to buy all your guy's new routes because wow they look amazing. Anyways, what do you guys think? I just thought I'd ask here since I use JR content almost exclusively aside from routes. Let me know please :)

TL,DR: Does JR content work with TS2019? If it does I am going to buy that, if not I am going to buy T:ANE.

Small side note, I've been going through all your guy's new stuff you've put out since I left and wow, so much of it looks so good. You guy's really are the best out there. Thanks for providing us with all this great content.

This is in no way a recommendation just something I found while looking at the Early Access options.

What is a Gold Class Membership?

  • Includes all the benefits of the Silver Class membership plus immediate access to Trainz A New Era and immediate Early Access to TRS19.
  • Access to TRS19 upon release (while you are still a member).
  • Exclusive access to ongoing feature updates post-release with “Trainz PLUS”.
  • A 25% store discount.
  • Exclusive access to our 14 Day DLC “Preview Pass”.
  • You can cancel your membership at any time and all benefits will end at the expiration of that billing period.

Note that "immediate access to Trainz A New Era" as well as TRS19 Early Access.

Worth considering if true IMO. I'd try to get it confirmed before I bought it but it seems to address both your needs. :D

I'd recommend buying TANE Deluxe, as it comes with four extra routes, which would otherwise cost you $20 a piece if you got the Standard Edition. I'd then update TANE to SP2 and then purchasing the Trainz Model Railroad 2017 Add-on pack. I'd then wait until they fully release Trainz 2019 for them to work out some of the bugs they have right now. Better safe than sorry.

@normheart I was looking a that but decided against it because I do not like monthly payments that much.

@jordon412 I also was kind of thinking that. Seems like a good deal to get the extra routes right now, especially with the sale they are on. I think I am going to go with this, thanks for the recommendation!

I would go with TRS2019, I don't thank there are that many bugs to worry about, and you learn with everyone else as we go, that way you don't get behind. Plus you get updates as they fix anything that needs fixed. Just my two cents.
