I am in the process of recovery from a corrupted Trainz 2010 installation. Trainz was reinstalled and did it's thing with a database update. When the dust settled, my routes and sessions had disappeared.
This is the second occurance, once in TR 2006, and now in TR 2010.
THIS TIME, I have a backup copy of the local folder on an external drive. Now "gunshy", I am confused by the various pieces of advise on how to correctly restore the routes. Apparently the backup file is uncompresses/unencripted and the Content Manager restores routes from compressed encripted files. As well, the recovery advise refer to the compressed routes which are found under the CM2 "My Contents" TAB. (not my case because they have disappeared). Has anyone been there?
I work well with "footsteps on the floor".
