hi all is there a way to set the portal automaticlly select trains from a list of differant trains you have imputed i.e 5 coal trains but each has a differant loco attached the computer the automaticlly randomly selects one and sends it out

thanks:)

Well yes. Central Portal Control lets the portal select a consist at random from a list that you provide when setting up the portal instructions. It will also emit in sequence if you so desire.

I've found that the tricky part is setting up the path for the AI train to follow - it also becomes incredibly tedious if a large number of track marks are used to describe the patch.

This might help here:

Tell us if this helps.

Likewise Portal Basic - default 'Emit Train' condition is a random train from an inputed list.

Is 'inputed' a word?????

andy :)

it is possible to create random but is it possible to create an ordered list eg:
Train a
Train b
Train c

in that order?

Central Portal Control gives two options against "Order to emit trains" - random and sequential. (Sequential =in order.)

Both Portal Control options work well.

You can make life much easier by also using the Schedule Library available from the JS Trainz Rules Factory (among many other very useful utilities).

The Library enables schedules or part schedules to be named, saved and recalled. Saving much tedious repetition in setting up individual train schedules.
