Which - and I know this from experience - is keeping a lot of us away from PC gaming. Thankfully, I also have a Wii! :)

That's the free market system, everyone with a wallet gets to vote with their wallet. There was furious outrage at both UKtrainsim and the UStrainsim with nearly everyone posting "if they use STEAM I won't buy it!" First day of release they jumped like lemmings, six zillion posts about how do I activate my STEAM account?

The most intrusive is Ubisoft, I had Silent Hunter one thru four, won't be buying Silent Hunter V - that's my wallet vote. The agony and wailing over Ubisoft's decision to force the player into playing ONLY online with NO option to play offline was a dealbreaker for everyone if you read the posts;

The wallet votes are now in, apparently enough people don't mind it or are willing to put up with it that Ubisoft isn't concerned about the few sales they lost. Draconian anti piracy measures always seemed self defeating to me, you don't use a bomb to put out a fire in your living room. But whether it's true or not, the developers apparently believe they're gaining more sales with anti piracy (which is idiotic considering how quickly the pirates crack whatever they come up with) than they're losing by punishing the legit customer.

Yes I've seen real trains I've recorded numerous trains over the years. Oh and what made you want to say something to me about this I thought you all were done with me, huh? Yes I can't wait to see what this game has to offer maybe it might give me what I'm looking for.

If that's true, can you record one yourself and put on the DLS rather than request copyrighted content from me and, apparently, a ton of other people here?

Mike I can understand your frustration. We are working on getting some stuff together for the UK guys. Only problem with this is we know almost nothing about it. We will have to rely on you and some other experts to let us know if were doing it right or not. I will be in touch with you and a couple others in the next few weeks. I'm waiting on some plans to arrive as we speak. Perhaps this is the perfect excuse for a trip across the pond so we can drink some real ale!! ;)

Take Care!

Hi Everybody.
If i was from the USA or my main railway\railroad interests were North American. I would never have thought about moving to using RW exclusively, in a million years Mike.

There are many fantastic US payware locomotive and rolling stock models for TZ. Jointed Rail & RRMods being my two favourites, there are also some excellent US models included in TS12. So that there is plenty of choice for the US Trainz user. From my point of view the Trainz UK content included with TS12 stinks, this is supposed to be a 2011 release not a 2001 version of the game. Payware wise Trainz Britannia flys the flag for the UK, but mostly LMS prototypes and no custom cabs. Other than that there is only really the superb collection that is S&C 2009 and it's associated freebies.

Compare the quality of UK models for TS12 or even earlier versions of Trainz. With the quality of the models\cabviews in RW2 and its not even a contest, it's a no brainer.

10 years of loyalty to a brand name by myself, down the pan. Due to N3V's inability to exercise some sort of quality control over certain third party additions to TS12. IKB.

I have to agree with every word that IKB has stated their. The main reason that I have been using Railworks 2 in preference to Trainz started with a shortage of free time for route building which I enjoy in Trainz.

However, since using Railworks more I am very impressed with the quality and variety of the British content now on offer. one example would be the two DMUs class 101 and 111 that are superb with the cab view well beyond anything on offer in Trainz.

Fair enough, it is payware as much of the content in Railworks 2 is, but I do not mind paying for quality of that standard as it is such a pleasure to use in the simulator.

Over at the UK train Sim forum there seems to be a substantial number of former Brithish trainzers who of gone over to Railworks simply because all the content on offer. Therefore, I am sure that if our American content makers with their great reputations where to start producing good quality British payware there would be a ready market out there for it.

As they are thinking of crossing the pond to have a look and taste the British ale, why not come down to Somerset where we have some superb scenery, great railways formerly Brunel's GWR (passenger Trains which I am not sure if they have seen before) and best of all we will buy them a couple of pints of our wonderful Somerset cider and send them home very happy (until next morning).

Now how could they refuse such an offer.:D

What are the most essential DLCs of Railworks ? ( i don't want to spend 1060 euro )
Why don't you ask this over on a RW forum? They would be in a much better position to give you a proper answer. As much as we can discuss other sims here, giving specific advice, except for those who have other sims installed, is going to be a bit of a stretch.

The superelevation looks nice, but it appears there's a bit of a synchronization issue. The view from the cab is bouncing around a bit, but from the outside, the loco seems rock solid...

Hey that looks real.... LOL!!!!! I would be hard pressed to find a real locomotive with that much lean. In the real prototypical world that sort of lean would result in a massive derailment. Erik why don't you run along to the hole that you crawled out of. Nobody likes you here. If you are so set on RW, go back there and play with them. We're going to continue to develop on a platform that has plenty of prototypical US features. This is TRAINZ America, not RW America. If you have forgotten the link I am more than happy to guide you in the right direction: http://railworksamerica.com/

The angle is much too big. Most superelevation on curves is much less than that. With a big freight train, the physics of the train being pulled around the curve, would actually pull the entire train off the tracks at that angle, as the train tries to become straight.

Also, holy crap is that cab rocking back and forth a lot. It looks like your simulator cannot properly deal with the leaning of the tracks. Trainz can. It is nice and smooth.

Also, we have had superelevation for years now with the banking consists rule. Also, Gfisher has created some superelevated tracks that work, and thanks to some Russians, and also PEV, we have the ability to have consists that rock back and forth.

Oh, and as for your rain, it looks like someone put KY Jelly on the windshield. The water isnt' behaving like water. It is too viscus.

Wow really Erik? Just when I thought you couldn't stoop to a new low. You have continuously proven me wrong. I bid you adieu since you've basically lost all support from the Trainz community. Don't let the door hit ya on the way out!
