Considering you have got KRS Thread on the trainz forum would it be ok to create a thread for trainz on a KRS Forum Just so we're even:hehe:.

:hehe: That's what I keep telling some threads ago... considering that...

...I sometimes feel like not deserving this forum... and furthermore after reading the Kujuan RS Forum rules.

Instances:

...

  • Links to other sites, personal or not, are not allowed, nor is discussion about them. Restrict your posting to matters about 'Rail Simulator Support' only. General discussion is not permitted on these forums. Alternative community sites are available for such discussion.

  • Do NOT try to degrade or discredit Rail Simulator or any other products, their developers and websites, or their customers. This includes slander and other offensive comments.
This forum is suicidally open-minded. :hehe:

That one keeps being an unfriendly one-manned (-All my respect for that certain RSadam there, it's hard to be alone at that-) official forum . This is official too! :p (At last there are four Auranite trainzers left )

There is not a word for how dumb those rules are. It's supposed to be an open, inviting community forum, not a police state.

I'm not surprised that no one goes there.

Do we actually ever get to see any screenshots on this thread or is every post waffle? (including mine :) )

With all my respect and appreciation to serious RS users and the screenies shown here, I think it's too early to be able to show something interesting lacking more 3rd Party Content.

The built-in content is really scarce (and really poor concerning landscape and scenery objects) so as to make appealing screenies.

I must confess I feel a bit lazy starting over with new creation techniques.

The road the Trainz Creation Community has walked down for all these few years has been amazingly long, accelerated, and productive and it seems to me that RS will have a very narrow gap to get in through to even this... forget about surpassing it. Please, have a look at any of the celebrated and high-quality threads on this Screenshot Forum.

hi, ...

Now, the RS is completely new, and hence it did not have as many assets give .
TRS MSTS and have used for years.
I have now to the 90 objects for the RS. It's frankly easier than for TRS and MSTS.
At least it is for scenery objects easier.

When MSTS will be equally poor with objects as when RS start.
The MSTS II is not compatible with the I MSTS. Why should they?. The MSTS is technology of yesterday.
What remains from TRS will wait patiently from.

New always positive.

totaly invalid comparison
1: the KRS shot is a desert route while yours is something else western, certaintly not desert though.
2: i bet you are not getting 67 FPS in your trs shot:o
3: as ive said many times before your comparing 6 years of custom content to a game that was released a few weeks ago, judging by that KRS looks pretty damn good.
4: Photoshop! :p

What are you talking about ???????

Excuse my french but I fail to see the purpose of posting screens from RS in Trainz Forum. Some posts here are pointing out how inferior Trainz is in comparison - in order to accomplish what?

Mods allowing this, clearly show it's the most friendly forum and community around. (try this on any other sims forum) Trainz longevity and vast knowledgebase makes it the winner of all times, while the publisher of RS is known for beeing in for the quick money only. However, with enough 3rd party content it may well soldier on as MSTS when development and support stops.

You fellows have done a great job making the screenshots, but I'm not impressed at all. Drawdistance and fps by all means, there's such an inconsistency as for looks - some textures are photorealistic, some are 3D, some are 2D, some are blurry and some groundtextures looks like on-sale wall-to-wall carpets. Tracks and turnouts have great details but sits on top of the ground by themselfs. All put together makes a mess.

It should not: "To be - or - not to be".
TRS is a good simulator.
He script at many strengths that a user can use. :)
That can RS far yet.
But by the visual possibilities (material) ect. The RS is more of the time. As a cook says, "The eye eating." ;)
TRS is still a very graphically filegraner simulator with a lot of great opportunities. I find the TRS at wide visually realistic than the MSTS I.
One must, of course, the time has gnawed at him.
One should not compare the simulators ... each user searches or use something else.

A true friend should Railway Open for everything ..

Agree :p Especially the second point..

I can`t imagine what RS will look like in 6 years from now if Auran doesn`t do something serious about TRS..

Hi, Grogstop -

Sorry I wasn't able to respond to your post sooner but I've been on holiday.

Thanks for posting the comparison shots but I really fail to see the point you are trying to make.

The first shot is from RS - that's clear enough. The (default content) locos are nicely detailed. There appear to be some specular hi-lights on the bonnets. There are even some really nice shadows cast on to the track beneath each item of rolling stock. If you look closely you can also see a couple of locos in the distance, on the far side of the pylon.

The second shot appears to be a scene from TRS. I do not know if the locos are from the default content or not - but they look perfectly serviceable. What strikes me, however, is that the back of the consist is almost lost in the foggy haze - unlike the locos mentioned above.

The only other feature of note in the 2nd image is the "post processing"! Exactly why you feel you need to enhance this shot with a filter is a mystery but you have (apparently unwittingly) scored a bit of an own goal.

Too bad RS comes with CAJON. NOT TEHACHAPI. :o

Edit: Seriously guys, try to at least get SOME reference as to what you're talking about before you open your mouths and blather on about things you don't know.

At risk of being yelled at I would just like to say that I have enjoyed the screenshots posted here. I look forward to seeing more.

And remember, if the grass looks greener on the other side, its probably because your computer monitor needs some color-correction... :hehe:
