Rail Simulator Screenshots

I think my thoughts are if there is information that we might find of interest or a new way of doing something then it's reasonable to post.

If its just more screen shots of the same five locos then I think its at the level of advertising and almost spam cluttering up the Trainz forum. I see more than enough adverts during the day and can do without more on the Trainz forum for competing products.

My personal view is I think the thread should now be locked as there doesn't seem to be any new information being posted and it's just adding noise to the forum without contributing anything useful.

I agree....However, they ought to lock all the other threads depicting the KRS sim as well, otherwise they will only grow longer each day..... yawn, yawn.
To be fair John, the only version that was out at present is the UK version, so they only have HST's and a couple of locomotives anyway to show screenshots of at the moment, nice pics all the same....
Edit....The American fraternity is now posting screenshots as well now.
I was under the impression that Kuju and Auran were competitors, but on Amazon you can buy both TRS2006 and the Kuju game in one deal...bizarre, I wonder why EA have allowed that. Oh, and they are already selling USED copies.....hmmm, I wonder why people have returned them so quickly.......:hehe:

You do have to remember way back when auran was partnered with Kuju.

I actually enjoy watching the KRS screenshots. It beats having to pay for the game and have the same result.

The first Auran product I ever purchased was for MSTS! That was many moons before the advent of Trainz...

:)

Perch
Even in the very first trainz they were still partnered with Kuju,The had some sign for Kuju as an intro where some ball jumps and spells out the word Kuju.

just wonder if not living in EU or US how to purchase/download a fresh copy of KRS. I am a trainzer for too long to get too excited nor to sleepy not to look ahead for fresh ideas both ways.
Any input appreciated on even any used copy KRS.

...I went and done it...

8) Only to support the genre of "Train Simulation."

Acknowledging a'forehand, that RS, will need a couple of years before any comparison may be made...between msts, and railroad tycoon.

The reason for no panoramic screen views, to me seams to be to reduce polygons, so more detail can be viewed by store bought computers, with no upgrades.

The Cajon Pass route, is of course not a DEM, because no importer is made to do this...yet.

All commercial add-on 3rd party content creators, must at this time, pay a £1000 ($1,976.80-Live rates at 2008.01.28 02:50:30 UTC) per item, to be used as a payware add-on...something I think Auran dropped from the onset...

All I'm looking at is the technology involved...like FBI at a militia camp.

...and the review, on G4TV's X-Play...

I think you are getting confused with something else.

(same as with the CoC where it says sig images must be less than 30kb ;) )

That cost only applies if the 3rd party developer doesn't want to inform ( and or be involved with ) RSDL prior to the content release (min 2 weeks before release ). If RSDL are advised about the content etc then the fee is waived and thus zero.

So we are saying payware creators basically have to pay $2,000 up front per item. No wonder Barn700 has been active in the forums promoting Trainz recently. It kind of rules out a lot of the east european creators we are seeing moving into payware as well.

Note to Paul I know you would have been in there helping people anyway and your help is appreciated.

No, they pay nothing if they advise RSDL of what they are doing. If they refuse to have anything to do with RSDL then they must pay a fee to release a product for RS, doesn't seem too harsh. In simple terms, if you want to make money off RSDL's back then they would like to be informed of what you are making. If you don't want to play ball then you can pay £1000.

Edit: A few from me :)

No thats not what they are saying at all. All a 3rd party developer has to do is inform RSDL at least 2 weeks prior to release what they are doing etc and then the fee wont be applied and therefore free. To sumarise if the developer doesn't want RSDL's involvement then a fee will apply if they involve RSDL then they pay nothing.
