Rail Simulator Screenshots

Gee, that sounds much more complicated than the Trainz way of taking as many shots as you want without having to worry about pasting or anything.

No, just another area where RS functionality doesn't seem like a step forward from where we are already with TRS....:p

It also seems that FRAPS is inevitably needed to get the best out of taking screenshots and making videos. As in other sims though, but not as neccesarry. (sorry for spelling)

The KRS screens may appear to be more realistic, but if you really look at them, and that of TRS2004, the 2 really aren't that much different in terms of graphic capability.

In a word. Rubbish.Perchpole

Whoa there......what we SEE is very subjective; our perception is quite individualized...not universal. If Springtransit sees the graphics as similar, that's his perception. It's like an opinion in that it is neither wrong nor right....just that it is.

What Perchpole sees is no less or more true than what I see or anyone else sees.

Hi, Ed -

Under normal circumstances I would be inclined to agree with you. In this instance, however, I think it's just another example of people saying something - again and again - in the hope that others will accept it as the truth! It's the kind of thing politicians do all the time!

Perchpole,

sorry for dropping into the middle of the circle, but Euphod is completely right. Someone likes KRS, others prefer Trainz. Me, personally like trains and all train simulators. If those simulations have some less good solutions for graphic problems or screenshot storage it is not that important.

I hope we will never have an armed Rail Simulator Army and another army for Trainzer fighting for the glory of... of what? :hehe:

Cheers:

Hi Sura -

Absolutely right. I'm with you 100%.

Unfortunately, you can only apply such common sense rules when others do likewise! To glibly suggest that the graphics in TRS 2004 are the same quality as those found in KRS is just silly.

Don't get me wrong; I'm not asking people to like KRS. I'm a Trainzer just like everyone else. I just think we can all look a bit more adult (in this debate) if we swallow our pride from time to time and give credit where credit is due.

Euphod the Philosopher?

May God forbid!

I was speaking of human perception. It's a well known fact to law enforcement students that if you stage an event with 100 witnesses you are likely to generate 100 different descriptions of the event. Each person processes visual input differently.

I understand the context of Perchpole's response and he may be right, but we can't think what we see is the same as what another see's.

You are absolutely right. There is just no comparison when it come to graphics. KRS has TRAINZ beat hands down. Just a small comparrison with this image. Just look at the hands on both pictures. Now I would say the graphics on the Trainz picture just suck.

Now when it comes to creating Routes/Layouts then of course Trainz will win, as it is much easier to do this in Trainz.
