Quest for river splines is requiring me to spend money?

Ok, Ive got trz2006. I know it doesnt show on this account, but on the original, it does.

I havent touched trainz in the past year due to hardware issues. Well, I get back to it and continue my route that Ive been working on every now and than. Well, I searched for some river splines and it led me to the download station.

A year ago, I could access the download station no problem. Now Its saying I need a ticket. Um...what? If I wanted to spend money, Id purchase Sirgibbys rivers for less than a ticket.

can anyone lead me to some river splines or explain why I cant access the station anymore?

Vintage versions of Trainz (TRS2006 and earlier) became officially unsupported per the Trainz Lifecycle policy in September 2010. As of September 2011, Trainz Classics 1 and 2 have been added to the unsupported list as well. Users whose latest registered version is in the unsupported list will need a First Class Ticket to access the DLS. So you will need to either buy a FCT or upgrade to a supported version of Trainz (Trainz Classics 3 is currently the oldest supported version) to obtain access to the DLS.

Im sure others have ranted about how crappy that policy is, so Im not gonna fill this post with one of mine.

Now about those rivers... are there any that arent Sirgibbys or on the download station?

Well, it could be worse. If Auran wanted to make a little more money they could restrict your downloads to only the version(s) of Trainz you've purchased.

Not sure why they haven't thought of that yet. Oops!

I believe that Sirgibby's site has the same sample river splines as the DLS.

Yeah, I have Sirgibbys freeware ones, however, one of them causes my screen to flash black every few seconds.
