PSU DOA (?)

Just installed my new (Christmas gift) CX600 PSU and nothing happens. Actually one of the case fans starts to rotate a fraction of an inch and then NOTHING. I reinstalled the original PSU and everything works, so I know that I have hooked everything up right. I noticed that the new PSU connections are a little TIGHT to install, especially on the motherboard, so I am trying to be careful with them. Anyone have any suggestions ? Technical support not avail. until tomorrow or later. I put a ticket in to the support line at Corsair.

If the fan briefly starts and stops that probably indicates a short circuit somewhere, or another thought, it is set up for the right supply voltage?

Another thought if the pins are tight, check one or two of the connectors on the wires haven't been pushed upwards and not connecting properly.

"Auto-switching circuitry provides universal AC input from 100V-240V" ...to quite from the box. I have looked at all the pins as best I can, and found everything all right. Thanks for the input. I am working today until 7pm (from home) and I will continue to look when I get done. Thanks for your suggestions, they sound logical.

Facing similar problems with my PC.

In my case, it's a Corsair AX850 PSU and none of my fans work. They worked perfectly for a year, so this is only a sudden, recent occurrence. The pin connections at the PSU all look OK to me. The suggestion from the guy who built the PC for me is that something (e.g. a resistor) has blown in the "4Pin Molex to 6x 3Pin Fan Splitter PCB" which I guess is the thing that distributes power from the PSU to all the fans. I will need to replace the Molex/Fan Splitter PCB.

Could it be something like that for you too?

Just did the "paper clip test" on my PSU with one fan connected. Okay. Reinstalled everything and it worked. What happened, I believe, is that I had the 4pin CPU plug oriented wrong. But anyway, new PSU running fine and quiet. New GTX 660 2GB graphics card is humming along: absolutely NO stuttering; smooth as glass!! Couldn't be happier!! Now I can't wait for T2/T:ANE or whatever it ends up being called.

I ran into the same problem last year when I built my PC. I would first try the paper clip trick by putting both ends of the paper clip in the green and black wire connections for the 4 pin molex connector and if the fans spin after doing that, I would then use a multimeter to see if power is going to the PSU.
