Problems making roads

I'm new to this - just got 2006 + 2004 + UTC and am using 2006 very successfully. One problem I have is laying out roadways. I seem have all the junctions in the world in my database, but no normal or "straight" sections to join them up with. I suspect they may not exist and there is a way to join them as with the rails, but I can't find how. Any help appreciated. Thanks Jules 22

No problem at all , Jules. In Surveyor, go to the track mode. Select Straighten (key B) and click on the road segment to want to straighten. You'll see it go straight. After all, remember that a road 'kind' is a track 'kind' with its 'istrack' tag zeroed.

The "ordinary" bits of road that join your junctions together are to be found under the splines section in the objects tab.
Click on the tab with the house, then on the right hand button at the top of the open tab.

If yo want to make a "T" junction the easiest way is to select your road THEN - theres usually a type with sidewalks on both sides or one side.Make your road with sidewalk both sides, then a short stretch with sidewalk one side and then continue the road with sidewalk both sides.Set a a piece of road with sidewalks both sides to the same height and manouevre it into position to fill the gap in the road you first laid and you have a perfect T junction.
