Problem opening Archived content

Hi everyone,I am having trouble reinstalling archived content back into Trainz 2009. As we all need to do every now and then, I had to do the clean install of windows XP to get it running reasonable again. Like a good boy I backed up all my trainz content as Archives as I do regularly. moved them onto an external hard drive and performed the reformatand reinstall of windows and trainz 2009. I have moved the archives back onto the desktop to reinstall my routes and content and I can't get the Archived content to install. I have no problem installing other downloaded CMPs, foldered content and assesta from previous versions of Trainz, but Archives wont play ball. When I double click on the archive it opens CMP, then a small window very briefly flashes up and disappears (seems to contain a bar graph) and then nothing. Ive tried drag & drop, etc all to no avail. I can't find my archived route any where in Trainz. I have even started a new route in case CMP needed the folders to unpack the archives. The new route is there but no archived route or content. I have also tried importing through files and as CMPs, but when selecting files or CMP files the window doesn't see the archived files even though they were created by Trainz 2009 a few days earlier.
Thanks in advance for your help on this matter

Have you checked the Open for Edit tab?

If you don't have the automatically commit option checked in your settings, the content will need to be committed afterwards when it's finished being imported.

Hope this helps,

John

Thanks for feedback

Hi John, Thanks for your ideas, I went backed and checked and I have automatic commit set. The problem seems to be that the content isn't even loading into the CMP windows in the first place. I have used archived content in Trainz 2006 content manager in the past and I'll try to use 2006 and import back up to 2009 but I am afraid of losing content between the versions. I am also concerned as to why Content Manager 2009 does not see archives that it created when you are looking for content through the import content file menu. I'll keep trying and any more ideas would be appreciated.
Thank you

Try:
File (tool bar, top left)
Settings ...
Archives / Add / Save
Archiver (small pane, left side)
Click on the little blue arrow

(Done form memory, so you might need to feel your way around a bit if this is not quite correct.)

Tell us if this helps.

Phil

Well done thanks.

Well done thanks a lot Phil. Well today i've learned something else. What you said worked a treat, I never realised that that is how that tab worked in settings.
So once again THANKS A LOT, hope to be able to return the favour to another member myself one day.

Signing of this topic satisfied,
