PRE-ORDER Trainz Classics 3rd Edition Now - Release Date 23rd July 2008

I'm now setup on the shop system so I'll be responding again to all those who mailed me about Cheque and Postal Orders shortly.

Thanks for your patience

Mike.

Do you also handle the orders from The Netherlands?

I am afraid not.. I only do Germany as I took over from the regional manager for that region quite some time ago.

You will need to order from Auran.

Mike.

(In theory I could do anywhere in Europe as once I've got them through customs and into the UK there is free travel of goods within the European Union, but that's not how it is setup)

Thank you. Via Auran it is then.

Well I was going to order it as soon as it was available for pre-order, but seeing as it's no longer "released this month" and we are no longer getting the list of 20 features for TRS2009, I think I'll wait until it's out and see what people say about it.

Why?
Because these were recent announcements, and they've already changed their minds.

My "Cynical" hat is still off, as promised, but I'm going to wait until it's in peoples hands before I commit.

2 weeks ago I said the next few weeks would be telling, didn't I?. :D

Hello

Are you not happy about this little bit below?:)

2009 Feature Request Update Thread: http://forums.auran.com/trainz/showthread.php?p=293036#post293036

We had proposed that we would put together a short list for you all to vote on, but given all the variables, we have instead decided to allocate time to various systems in Trainz and ensure we add at least one new feature across the board. We will also make some bigger changes for the areas where we either feel more work is necessary or where we can make big improvements quite quickly and easily.

Tony

You can tell Smiley is from North Wales, if something isn't black it`s just blacker. :D
Lol, except I'm not from North Wales.
I was born in Pontypridd, and live in Newport. :D

And Ahsan, I'd already read that thread.
That was my point.
They don't seem to know what they're doing from one week to the next.

Like I said, I want to give them the benefit of the doubt, so I won't be cynical about a product that's not even out there, and I'll step back from the forums until TC3 is released.

It's just that it's all starting to look a little too familiar.
It's up to them to prove me wrong.

Smiley.

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to attemt to nail "The Seeker" by The Who at 100% on GH3, before the football starts. :)

Have a sneak peak of the TC3 box's backside:
I'm more interested in the performance of the software inside the box, than the box itself, but thanks anyway.

It all looks pretty standard stuff, with the usual mentions of driving, surveying, Railyard, CMP, etc.
In fact, apart from the dark overtones of the packaging, that could easily be from TRS2004 or TRS2006.

And I do wish that companies would stop claiming things like "most realistic train simulation ever!".
It's an impossible statement to qualify, but one that they all use.

If tens of thousands of TC3 users say the same thing after release, then there's a voice to believe, and one that they should reproduce on the packaging, but until then it's just the opinion of the creators of the game, who aren't exactly going to be objective. :hehe:

Now don't forget the little star sticker for the front that says:
"Now 12% better than previous Trainz versions, and 23% better than the next leading brand!"

:p

I'm looking forward to it's release so that I can view a certain dozen or so people's opinions of it before I decide to get it or not.

Smiley.

I got this email this morning, did anyone else get it?

The release date for Trainz Classics Volume 3 has changed to 10/07/2008 (dd/mm/yyyy). This product will not be shipped until this new release date.

William

I ordered TC3 on the day it became available to pre-order, but I have not recieved any email and my profile says it has been processed but not yet shipped. I hope this is not going to go pear shaped.

Ditto here...still just says "Processed".

I'm still hoping it will arrive in time for my birthday (a week today!).
