Posting images on the Trainz forums (fast method)

If you're still very green to the Forums here's a quick way to start posting on your images here;
**You'll need to use an image-sharing website. More specifically: image hosting and sharing service some that I've seen other users used in the past include SmugMug, Photobucket, and Imgur. However for this example I'll be using Postimages**

1. Go To Postimages (you can find it by using your search engine, or if you can put in "postimages.org" into your URL bar)

2. Upload your image file with the large blue button
The uploaded image page should look something like this;

3. Copy the link (direct link)
Example: "https://i.postimg.cc/3Rcw541z/f5e-21129-211sq-120114-2.jpg"
4. Go back to forums, click on the "image icon"
5. Paste you postimages link in.

6. Press insert
7. Done

*note: I should mention that trainz does have an official way to do this via the Trainz Portal Gallery however there is a 10 minute delay between uploading your image/screenshot and it showing up, and sometimes because other users also post their screenshots there yours might get buried or sometimes straight up not show up during that 10 minute delay.
(That's why I call this the fast method)

It is still there and I still use it quite regularly. It uploads your images, with an optional caption, to the Trainz Gallery.

Once I have uploaded an image to the gallery from the Screenshot option in Trainz, I open the Gallery, find the image (there is a username and other filters that you can use), right click on it and select Copy Image Link.

I then open a post in the Trainz Forum and select the Insert Image icon, paste the image URL into the address box and click Insert.

No third party web site involved (I do use PostImage which is a very good hosting site but I do worry that, like the previous hosting site I used, it may eventually go subscription only).

You shouldn't really be suggesting Imgur as a hosting site since it's not available to people living in the UK.

I believe that feature was added in either Trainz: A New Era circa Service Pack 4, or Trainz Simulator 2019. i've said it multiple times before, I am Trainz Simulator 2009: World Builder Edition. Service Pack 4 (3.3)
although it doesn't really matter either way, since some of the images are not Trainz Screenshots they'll be Work in Progress photos, testing, debugging, etc.

i do see your concern, I am also very aware of this bottleneck, Photobucket because like that after 2017 (you can actually see in here in the trainz forums in fact. users who've posted their screenshots years ago via Photobucket, those screenshots are now ruined! with that awful watermark)

Which is why I prefer to use the Trainz Screenshot feature and Trainz Gallery for actual Trainz screenshots. I still use Postimage for the screenshots of Tools, Palettes and other Trainz tech stuff so that they do not clutter up the Gallery.
