portal problem

I've set up 2 pairs of portals to help simulate network traffic, but some strange reason it sends any consist that enters to the closest
portal as well as the specified portal.

I've tried deleting the portals from the route then redoing them, but it still does the above

could someone tell me how to fix this?

Edit each portal and check if the option "train returns via alternative portal" is selected.

Could someone help me with this, I was hoping one of the recent patches would fix this but they didn't
