Planet Auran does not recognise my password

I have been a Trainz user for several years and have had the same password for a lot of years. For some reason the Forum login stopped accepting my password so I clicked "Forgotten Password" (even though I hadn't) and they sent me a new one. Now I can log in here but Planet Auran will not accept either new or old passwords. It seems the only way I can contact them is to submit a ticket, for which I need a password. What can I do? Get yet another password?

Hi Everyone,

Thanks for bringing this up. We'll look into this right now to see if we can sort this out.

Hi Auran, if you are listening this problem is still ongoing and I STILL CANNOT CONTACT YOU! Why is this so hard for you to sort out or at least let us know what is happening? I have bought TRS12 but cannot install it so can I have a refund?

Perhaps if you got on Skype with me, or someone else, we could figure out a solution to your problem.

Thanks for the offer Cascade but it shouldn't be necessary to do that and in any case I don't have Skype installed on my PC. Auran could PM instructions to me here including mt TRS12 serial number. That wouldn't be at all difficult.

What if the helpdesk never gets back to you ... and if you downloaded Skype, possibly your questions and solutions could have been answered instantly, days ago.

Skype is so easy to install, and outperforms any EMail, Yahoo IM, Forum PM ... by lightyears in speed (I never thought I would like Skype so much, but now I find it a totally indispensable IM tool). Did I mention that Skype is FREE" !??!

If the helpdesk never gets back to me I will demand a refund on TRS2012 under the UK Distance Selling Regulations (goods or services not fit for purpose sold over the internet or phone) and they will lose a customer who has bought products from them since 2004.

You may have a problem there - that law only works if you notify them within the first 7 days after purchase.

Also, due to the way the helpdesk works, you may need to login to the site in order to check for replies, as they don't always send emails out.

Hi Shane,

The helpdesk will send out a message. I have received responses back from Felix and Zec after I submitted recent tickets.

I've come across incidents where it has not happened (including a recent one from Felix, although that was on the old system) - and yes I did check my spam box.

Thats arguable. This is the relevant legislation http://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2000/2334/contents/made TRS2012 has never worked for me and I have been unable to contact them for an almost equally long time. A few years ago I foolishly signed up to BT Broadband and 3 weeks later after several phone calls to Mumbai it still didn't work; I sought advice from UK Trading Standards and was told to send BT a recorded delivery letter informing them that the contract was terminated forthwith, which I did and that was the end of it.

That would be great if I could log into the site but I can't.

Let me get this straight:

Did you recieve a game that had no serial number included ?
Did you change your Password (even though changing a password is only allowed one time) ?
Did you change your EMail Address and your Username ?
Did you refresh your Original Password at Planet Auran, with the same identical original password ?

Now N3V can't recognise your log in ?

Does the game start up, where you get into the CM (CMP) ? ... Can view the Auran/TS12/Settings file ?

"You recieved a game that had no serial number included ?"

No. I downloaded it online but something went wrong with the download and not long after that a computer crash which lasted for a month made me change my priorities to getting the computer working. The serial number is on Plasnet Auran to which I have no access because it rejects my password.

"You changed your Password (even though changing a password is only allowed one time) ?"

No, Planet Auran decided to start rejecting my password so I HAD to change it - which I did only one time. It now rejects both the original password and the new one, though the new password allows me to log on here.

"You changed your EMail Address and your Username ?"

I had to change my email because I changed my ISP and they (Post Office) decided to terminate my email service because I was no longer paying them for broadband. My Username is the same one since I bought TRS2004 all those years ago.

"Does the game start up, where you get into the CM (CMP) ? ... Can view the Auran/TS12/Settings file ?"

I can't even try to install the game because it requires my serial number as soon as I try. I appear to be missing one of the parts of the installation files and to get that I need a serial number.

I see the predicament.

If I had RCN as an ISP provider, I would not have my only EMail account as: XxxxxxxXxxxxxxx@RCN.com ... as if I switched my ISP provider to Comcast, my RCN EMail address would go off into cyberspace. Possibly this is why N3V doesn't know who you are, because your identity is different than when you ordered your download.

Other than refreshing your Planet Auran Password and re-saving your Planet Auran Profile ... I don't know what to say to fix this, loss of your identity.

Does your profile still have your non-existant EMail address in it ?

Well I have some good news and some bad news. I wrestled with Planet Auran last night for an hour and then went to Simulator Central. I clicked "Forgot Password" and apparently nothing happened so I tried it again. When I opened my email there were two mails from them - the page had responded in tiny green letters on a black background, too hard for my tired old eyes to notice. I changed my password back to my original password and it accepted it so I can now access this forum, PA and SC with my old password.
Now the bad news.
I go to download - at 22.00 - the missing file, part 2a and the download window says "10 hours"! So I abort.
This morning I get ready to go out and it says "35 minutes" so I leave my computer on for 3 hours and when I get back it is done. I run TRS2012 and it gets halfway through before it says "part of the file is missing or corrupted" but gives me no indication of which part. I retry and retry but eventually abort. I wipe all the already downloaded parts in order to try again. Setup downloads in a matter of minutes and then part 1a...............10 hours. I cancel it and go out for a couple of pints.

interupting a download requires complete un-installation of that version of Trainz

A download may take 3hrs, 8hrs, 14hrs ... who knows, but antivirus should be turned off, and it is better not to use your PC in the meantime while downloading, or applying a SP

Downloading overnight while you are sleeping is the best way.

Good luck and let us know of your success
