Placing displacement bit mape

Next what?

You found these...

Clone one of these by highlighting and choosing either Clone from the Content menu or by pressing CTRL+D

Clear your search (delete the words)...

Change the filter to Open for Edit.

---

You should see a new asset.

Copy in your texture and name it the same as the one in the folder.

Note: If you are using a built-in asset, you need to run it through Images2TGA to repair it in order to get both the texture file (the bmp or jpg), and the .texture.txt file.

Once you've edited, copied in, edit the Config.txt file to change the Username to something else.

Submit and you should be all set.

I have a texture (Displacement) as my background instead of My screen picture. I don't know how I did this and I give up trying to get my displacements where i want them.

Don't seem to find the trainzContent above to look like the first file bar with "TranzContent" and down a line "File, Edit, Developer, Content," then down 2 lines "Filter (Installed)" 2 more lines down "Type, Status, Name, Asset ID". Thus I can't get the rest.

I'm still trying but no luck the book says if i put the bit maps in see below.

"Making your own displacement maps
You can also make your own displacement maps using a simple paint
program (e.g. MS Paint) and then drop them into the \Resources\
Base\Displacements folder in your T:ANE directory to make them
accessible."

I've done this and it don't work!! AAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Hi Fuzzy - Forget the manual. it was modeled on the TS12 procedure and has never been updated.

Look at John's post #18, the very top part of the post. Under the word File, do you see a grey triangle pointing to the word Filter?

Now scroll down to the next part of the picture. Do you see that the arrow is now pointing down?
Notice also, the word Content in the second line of the picture.

So click on that little grey triangle and a new Installed field will appear.

Click the black triangle at the right-hand end of the new Installed field.

Select Category and in the field where it says: Achievement select Ground Brush instead.

Scroll down to find one of the installed assets (dark text). Select one of those assets and click on the Content menu tab.
The sixth item is Clone. Click that.

Note the kuid assigned to the clone. Change the filter to Today and your New Asset should be there.

Right-click the asset again and select Open for Editing and ... Show In Explorer

Then go back to post #9 and follow the instructions from step #5

And have a Merry Christmas.
