Trains & Ponies!
Hey guys, I started getting into using Pennsylvania Railroad steam trains and possibly routes. Could someone hook me up with any PRR Freeware content? Mainly Steam Locomotives and Routes (Nice long mountainous routes eg high bridges, steep tunnels and grades etc) Diesel and Electric will do cuz those steam trains are gonna need to be needing some helper locomotives :p

http://kltrainz.com/index.html (Look Under Freeware). These folks have also made most of the lineup of PRR Belpaire equipped Locos, but most of those cost ~$7.50. Well worth the price however as they're some of the best Locomotives available for Trainz at the moment.

After that, Route wise, theres a ton of "East Coast Flavor" Proto-lanced/Fictional routes (http://checkrail.com/ - look at EK3 and EVWR), but I don't think there are many "Recreations of Former PRR RoW". Still, I haven't seen it all, so perhaps someone with more experience in this regard can help here....

There's a route on the DLS called "Wyefield Junction 2a release april 2012", it is freelanced but could easily represent some of the mountainous territory the PRR covered.

Believe it or not the only mountainous stretchs of PRR track (@ 1.75%) was a 30 some mile area, between Johnstown and Altoona, crossing the Appalachian Front Range, and for the most part, all other sections were much less than 1.00%, and oftentimes much less than 0.50%.

Thorndale was the Eastern Region Helper Base, and Pitcairn was at one time the largest classification yard, prior to Enola and Conway being built.

Between Enola and Altoona the gradieint was at highest @ 0.40%, and was for the most part @ 0.10%
