The Cumberland Atlantic Railroad it's a fictional island located 14 miles southwest of Yarmouth, Nova Scotia. Cumberland is not a Canadian region; it is a country-inspired with U.S. and Canadian landscapes depicted as a New England-like nation almost twice the size of Connecticut with a diamond shape look.

The Cumberland Atlantic Railroad is a fictional company that serves as a freight hauling and passenger service that operates steam, diesel, and electric locomotives. The railroad has over 567 miles of track routes from northwest of Mockingbird, through Cumberland Station in downtown depicted on Dallas and Denver, to the south-southwest of the large coastal town of Bailey Bay. Cumberland Atlantic Railroad is the largest and only operating rail system in the country.

It began its rail service in 1883, with the 21-mile route from Cumberland to the northwest of Banshee. The Cumberland Atlantic Railroad continued expanding more rail lines, scattering miles of track around the island until the early 1930s when the Great Depression forced its rail service to suspend its operation. It was not until 1939 when the world went to war in Europe, and the Cumberland Atlantic Railroad began to step up. Though Cumberland did not participate throughout the war, the government and the Cumberland Atlantic Railroad sent some troops to Canada and Britain to support the war effort, eventually winning the Battle of Europe in 1945.

After the war, the Cumberland Atlantic Railroad again gained its prosperity as before. However, it almost went bankrupt in 1958 when passenger and freight services declined due to automobile and airline travel. But in late 1958, at the last second, a local businessman bought the Cumberland Atlantic Railroad and saved it from bankruptcy. Today, fewer passenger and freight services run the railroad, including steam, diesel, and electric locomotives.

CAR? Sounds like a self-incriminating road :hehe:

Anyways, interesting backstory. Got a paint scheme done for the CAR? I'd be happy to make one for you!

Here it is. The Cumberland Atlantic Railroad railyard. Although, construction of this layout is still in progress.

It's going to be a long build for these areas.

Like your Rail Yard, you are very talented,

I would just say, Quality over Quantity, is the better way to go, in absolute terms, Good Work Product takes time, attention to detail, I have heard folks who have taken, 1-10 years or more to make their Routes, it is just a fact. ;)

Important, take breaks, stretch, as work along with Route. Breath too....Some our Route makers have wrist issues from extended repetitive motion.........:(

Congrats on getting your Pictures posted, ea picture is worth a 1000 Words, for me especially as is with a fair amount of Folks, I more visually inclined to learn than reading a Book for say. Your pictures say a lot of what your thought creation is why building this Route.......

Thank you for sharing and I bid you a nice weekend ahead......

I'll not be the only one who'll build the route because I'm going to collaborate with other gamers who I can share with and build the route for me to speed up, and save time.

This area well be depicted on New York, New York, Newark, New Jersey, and Chicago, Illinois. The Cumberland roundhouse is inspired by the Chicago & North Western Railroad roundhouse and the railyard is nearly depicted to the Lesperance Yard in St. Louis. Although, my layout is not exactly the same thing as to those in the picture, but it's close as it's gonna get.

Hey JM whose counting all the Dotted I's & T's,,,,,, your honesty and explanation, and the fact it is on DSL, says all I need to know.......It's huge project and your to be commended on trying so hard to make it happen.......Perfection is in eye of the beholder......There will always be Monday Morning Quarter Backs, just the lay of the Land........But your the Master of your direction. Do what you think is best.

Looks very detailed from those pictures, and I don't think, sorry If I am incorrect, but I don't think they are building historic Rail Yards like this anymore, so to see re produced as best as is possible on Trainz is pretty cool......Users better have a hefty Graphics Card to appreciate the effects Hosteling untold 100's of freight Cars in these gargantuan Sort Yards....

Thanks for sharing with us......Love a good back story on WIP Route Projects........

Soon, I'll be the Trainz route building master. Works like this can be hard, though it does take time to accomplish from start to finish.

This area will be known as Kingston, based on New York, New York, Newark, New Jersey, and Chicago, Illionis. The town will be designated for middle class business for the Kingston community. I'm not sure what I'm describing here, but it'll be the main hotspot for the Cumberland Railyard for local residence to get to work much quickly, including a train station near it. This will also be local shopping, restaurants, parks, and residential homes depicted on Newark, New Jersey.

This railyard will be one of the largest and busiest on the island, with non-stop trains delivering loads of freight to the yard awaiting for their next journey, and a passenger service yard. They will be close to the roundhouse where the engines will be checked for maintenance and an engine repair works if the trains suffered breakdowns. The yard will provide it's service to the Cumberland community, 24/7.
