Patching from TRS19 SP2 to SP4

Hey all,

So I have heard many reports of how unstable TRS19 SP4 is but it can't be that bad if people can build good routes without many errors in them? I'm looking to patch my game all the way up to SP4 to make use of the routes that Trainz Forge has produced that are only supported in patched games. The only problem is that I have to get my game through service pack 3 to get to SP4. Is there any that I really should be concerned about when patching my copy of TRS19 to SP4?

Make a backup of both the program and your user data folder. I put mine on an external drive.

Once you have your backup, update via the Launcher.

Don't cancel anything while it's running even if it appears to be stalled. When finished, start up and it'll run a very, very long database repair.

Let that complete, close everything down and run a defrag on your hard drive if it's a regular hard disk.

If you have any DLC content, check for updates.

In Content Manager, check for missing dependencies and download anything that's missing should there be any, and check for faulty assets. If there are any faulty assets, view errors and warnings, and they should disappear. If they don't, you need to look further.

I use this procedure when updating and have since the early days of TANE and the results have been pretty consistent.
