Paintshed

Hi guys,
I was thinking about buying Paintshed earlier but read it could only be used for Auran content. Does this include anything in CMP or only content made by Auran?

It only paints a choice few Auran Paintshed Templates, it won't paint anything else...but it does work fairly well: http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc339/cascaderailroad/Screen_002-3.jpg

It doesn't work in TRS2009 at all, unless you import the painted locos and cars which you created in 04 or 06.

There is a free download of it somewhere on the web.

You can reskin just about anything as long as you get permission from the original owner/creator. All you need is a good photo editing program, (there are good free ones out theresuch as paint.net, and GIMP!) and some patience. There are some tutorials as well...

There is a "Basic_Reskinning_for_beginners" tutorial that uses fewer programs here:

It might help you to see the overview and uses free software.

Just to correct a few things:

Paintshed is not available for free unless it is a pirated copy.

The standalone version requires TRS2004 or earlier versions of Trainz to be installed to work.

There is a free update for the standalone version to make it with TRS2004 available from Auran's old TRS2004 website. It requires a valid serial number to work.

IMHO the best way to get Paintshed is to buy TRS2006 as it is included.

I got my copy of paintshed online. There are a heap of sites offering it for download and for freee. If they are illegal Auran would have done something by now....

Are you confusing PaintShed with PaintShop? PaintShed is a program which can only be used with Trainz and published by Auran free of charge either as a separate download for TRS2004 or included with TRS2006. Corel PaintShop is a totally different program of course.
