Painting Terrain Questions

Been playing in Surveyor a bit and have some questions. Why isn't there a way to adjust brushes -- it would be nice to set it at zero to make a circle (for crop circles) or have a square brush for fields, lawns, etc. Also, falloff control to blend textures easier would be nice.

The Paint tool 'F2' has both round and square. The standard paint brush is round, and the diameter is controlled by the Radius '+/-' knob. To fill a square, select the Select area 'B' tool, then select an area, then press the Fill area 'F' button and it will fill the square.

You can also play with the Direction '[/]' and Scale Ctrl '[/]'. These two are important to break up the patterns of some of the texture that tend to look repeating, or thing like cliff textures that need to be in a specific direction, like horisontal, not vertical. These are generally used with the brush, not fill.

You can also change your baseboards from the standard 10m grid, to a 5m grid, that way, when painting, you will have a higher level of detail.

Something else I didn't know, thanks.

There's still a falloff -- it paints outside the grid (using the 'B' tool and 'Fill'.

Another thing I've been trying to figure out... Tools like 'adjust height' for objects. The flyout typically shows something like "Object height: +2.00m (3.00m)". Moving the mouse lowers or heightens the object, but it doesn't seem to work in increments of less that a meter. On the other hand, rotating is difficult to set an exact value because the mouse movement isn't precise enough to move in .1 increments. Is there a way to type in exact values?

Press the CTRL or SHIFT-key while adjusting the height. This will give you more control over the adjustment. A request for entering precise numbers has been sent in. Hopefully for this and object rotation, it will come to fruition at some point.

Unfortunately, the ground brush for textures is round and the textures are aligned with the grid, which makes getting down small a bit difficult. Try zoom out, meaning move the camera out and away from where you are placing your textures. I find this give me more control because the cursor (ground brush) is smaller.
