OpenGL problem with new HIS ATI HD4670 card

Maybe someone here has had a similar experience. Running WindowsXP 32 bit SP3. I've been using a Radeon 1600 card without having difficulties running Trainz2009 under OpenGL. Today I updated my card to a Radeon HD4670 and installed the latest Catalyst drivers, v. 9.6. But, no OpenGL now. Trainz will only run under Direct3d. Moreover, the new Photoshop CS4 which uses OpenGL read my Radeon 1600 card fine but now doesn't read this one. I don't see anywhere in the Catalyst Control Center to enable, or disable, OpenGL.

Anyone have any ideas?

Hi, I had problems with the ATI card you mention, purchased a new compter with the ATI card and the water graphics were terrible in Open GL, ok in Direct X, so I exchanged the card for NVidia and no more water problems in Open GL. Hope this helps.

Try using older Catalyst drivers, newer is not always better.

Well, I called ATI tech support and after about an hour they decided the card must be defective. Am returning it and will try again with a new one.
