Old Glasgow Tram Route.

Many thanks to the creators for their wonderful content that got this little project off the ground.Even though Glasgow street names will be used it's a fictional route. Will try and replicate some well known landmarks as the route starts to grow although it won't be as expansive as rjhowie's fantastic project of the whole Glasgow tramway system.A few early screens of Duke street.

Hi, again!

Once more, perhaps even more, atmosphere in these scenes.

I see that the curious church cat has turned round to see what was going on with the "cameraman":)

Cheers Silversmith....i made a silly mistake with the trams previously and going over them again.

Hotgrove,

I went to school at Whitehill St in the 50s, and all the only comment I can make is................Wow !!!! Stupendous........ you have really caught the atmosphere of the place.

Thanks JWEwan.....Even though i named it as Duke street it wasn't based on any accuracy....i do know that street well as a bustling thoroughfare so it seemed appropriate......It could easily be Cathcart Rd,Alexandra Parade etc....You know what i mean....just making it up as i go along.....regards Hotgrove.

Hotgrove,

I know what you mean. You`ve captured that Glasgow feeling and I`m sure that Bobby Howie would agree with me about that. I can still remember travelling along those streets on the No7 car.

Hi,

I have just finished the last of several viewings of your pics to see if I had missed a sight of the Kilmarnock Bogie tram.

None in sight so I had a bit of a delve into seeing if maybe there was perhaps a clue elsewhere.

I think there may be a "clue elsewhere"!!

Kuid 62391 55061 is the INTERIOR asset which seems to no longer be on DLS but I have it in my 2004 Downloaded files

I discovered that the 2004 asset had a solid colour texture in excess of 64x64 so, earlier today 2009 fibbed when it told me the dependancy was available on DLS!

Well, all "porkies" aside, I have just uploaded Kuid2 62391 55061 1 with a resized 'guilty' texture to 2009 status.

I'll probably post a similar information message in Freeware forum when availability is confirmed

Regards, Alan

Thanks for taking the time to do that Silversmith....i will have a look at that later....I have a number of the Glasgow trams but not all of them work......I have no added service packs with my trz 2009 but i'm happy with the choices i still have available....The trolley buses have missing dependencies and are only there for show hence the reason i never added any overhead for them.....This would be a job in itself....the other overhead wires in the shots are just street wires.Since i'm here.......I have a traffic region for this period but with the trams running down the centre of the road the traffic dosen't quite work.......I can maybe add moving traffic elsewhere......Thanks for your interest.

Abandoned the plan of running a trolley bus route in unison with the trams....the trolleybuses in some of the shots, although maybe not typical of Glasgow are only there for show.

Hi,

Hope I'm not intruding on your excellent thread. Also I may be mentioning something you know already

In the smallish pic I have shown four PSVs, in Glasgow livery. The 4wheel and 6wheel trolleybuses are mine
and the Daimler Double Deck and Daimler Single deck are andi06

Andi provides the Livery, Crest and Route Selection features within all of these asset files.

Hi Silversmith your input is most welcome as is any advice....these buses are fantastic and no, i have never seen them. They would be a perfect addition to my route....The petrol driven buses would probably be easier to add to the route as i wouldn't have the problem of overhead wiring but regardless your trolley buses look brilliant.Would they be compatable with trainz 2009 ?.........At the moment progress is slow as i'm not working to any plan......i'm looking at youtube videos for guidance and scouring my collection of old Glasgow books....i haven't seen a lot of road signs hence the reason my screenshots contain very few........i would like to be accurate but even looking at the old photos it's hard to visualise locations that just don't exist anymore so i've gone fictional.......I would love these buses......thanks again and feel free to offer any advice.....regards Hotgrove.

Hi,
Actually, it looks as though you already have the four wheel trolleybus in your TRS 2009 albeit in one of the other livery choices available.

In SURVEYOR, placing the asset "ontrack" then clicking the (?) in the Loco/rolling stock selection panel's bottom right hand side should open a box from which you can select the Glasgow livery etc. This also applies to the Asset SIX WHEEL TROLLEYBUS but NOT the London Transport red 6 wheeler.

The latter is a stand alone creation due to the nature of its adverts arrangements and three line route detail information positions (courtesy of andi06)

Regarding the animated twin trolley poles for T/Bs and the single trolley pole for the one tram you display which does not have a bow collector attached,
the operation and installation of the rigs which accomplish this are referenced within the BYGONE AND PRESERVED TRAMS IN TRAINZ thread, Page8
May19th 2010
