Obviously a hot day at Waikanae, the track appears to be buckling! :p

I just have the one shot tonight, Robyn Redset waits on Platform 1 at Wellington to head to Johnsonville on Sunday night

Nice shot Ryan, Because of work on the Kapiti line, Fright trains had to use the Downmain instead of the upmain.

Home at last, but there is still work to do...
ryanmcc201201200015.jpg

The loco has been turned, the passengers have gone home, the loco has been shut down and now sits awaiting the PM run to town and back.

first time i've had a really good look at nz trainz
and you fellows are doing a really good job across the tasman
keep up the good work
i'll look more often

cheers,
patchy

Hi Ryan,
Nice shots there. Our N.Z. Transport Minister will be pleased you have shut down your loco and not wasting all that fuel. In the U.S., they leave all their diesels running 24/7 ! - only ever shut them down for servicing. I am just curious, do TasRail / BrizzieRail shut down their locos or leave them running 24/7 ?
Cheers,
Fender :D

Looking good Ryan! so just how far does this route stretch? IIRC Otaki & Masterton? and where to next? I live in Napier and head down there often so the scenes are very recognizable - Good work!

William

Thanks Rugrat. At the moment it's still Otaki and Masterton, but it is a continual work in progress. The main goal is to create the loop via Palmy and Woodville (hopefully I get it before the government closes the line :(... ). That will take years.

Fender, the loco was only shut down through your good work! From what I see over here, when diesels are sitting at Mayne for a period of time they are generally shut down.

The trip back, With DA 1431;)

I just cloned the signal, went into the config file, and in there you will find the line that says "Trackside". This is the distance from the track centreline. IIRC, left is negative, right is positive.

Nice shots, keeping the scene alive.

Thanks Ryan, What I'm trying to do is make a double headed signal out of a single headed one. Kind of like the Banner one you made at Khandallah. Anyway I'm pleased you like my screenshots.

cheers Mrrangi:)

My new NZR Group

HI NZR Trainzers. I have just created my New Zealand railways TRS group. I have always felt a need for a dedicated area for the discussion and updates section of TRS for our NZR. Of course there is this NZpics thread, but strictly speaking is soley for pics. If you wish to join, you will need to be logged in, select "community" at top black bar and from the drop down menu, select "groups" > "New Zealand Railways TRS Group". Hope to see you there.
Cheers, Fender :)

Swapping the new for the old

Because there ain't many Matangis to go round, We see an Matangi being swapped for a 4 car Ganz set at Paekakariki,
today we have the old green livery one's.

mrrangi201201290009.jpg

Here we see the Ganz units being reversed up Paekakariki yard so i can set the line for the "Up main".

mrrangi201201290018.jpg

Thats all for now;)

Just a quick heads up. We now have at least one Ganz set painted in the same colour scheme as the Maitangis. I saw one yesterday but didn't have my camera with me. If I can catch one again and get a decent pic I will post it for anyone who wants to do a reskin.

Cheers,
