NZ pics

Thanks for the comments guys. I also prefer the DL Ugly, although it's the lesser of two evils. Still, you guys must be excited to get some new locos over there at all, I guess. Beggers can't be choosers. The govt may make you wait another 30 years...

DL Ugly

O.K., DL Ugly gets the vote at this stage. B9K9 - yes, politics and trains have never really resulted well.
Cheers all, Fender :)

Good News

Good news - NOT. My computer has died as I was backing up after my latest build. I've lost at least Upper Hutt - Featherston and god knows how much more.

See you in a few months. Looking forward to the new releases.

Gee thats tough luck Ryan, but I have seen Upper Hutt screenies of yours for quite a while now. Don't you have a backup tucked away somewhere? Remember even if it is your HDD that has died the data can be recovered, if it is something other than the HDD you can put the HDD in another machine.

Cheers,

Yes, an external hard drive. I'll have Upper Hutt station there, but I have a horrible feeling that Featherston didn't make it. I think I'll just count my losses and build it again if it hasn't been saved.

Ryan

All the best, Ryan. I know the feeling very well and since have always backed up DAILY on to a USB Flashdrive, both for route builds and model builds - you never know when Mr. Murphy will strike ! You say your computer died, it may only be a PSU fault, so your data may still be saved.
Cheers, Fender :)

It's a New Year's Miracle!

Yes, my computer died completely, while backing up my content. So I went and bought a new one that they had there off the shelf - the first bit of good luck. I installed trainz and imported all that I had saved, and MY STUFF IS STILL THERE!!!! Wow, that's a relief. I was sure I hadn't backed up since before my last build. I'm back, but I see the DLS still isn't...

NIMT Passenger Trains Tonight

Evening all

We start in the cab of a DXB passing the down Overlander at Waikanae
ryanmcc201101310000.jpg

The Overlander heading back to Wellington, somewhere south of Paraparaumu

It was all downhill from here - once we got to Porirua, we were stuck behind an all stopper and crawled into town.

Looks like I should get my A into G and do the Capital Conection coaches. I think I have some pics somewhere, I have a look for them.

Cheers,

Hi Ryan,
I hope you have your computer firmly bolted down before that cyclone arrives! Best of luck, you may miss it entirely, I hope so.
Cheers, Fender :)

Hehe, Brisbane should be right. They've already cancelled trains up that way though. Thanks for the thoughts though.

Hi Johnstrains,

Looking good so far, nice screenies, Upper Hutt station looks pretty close to actual station.
Where can I get these coaches on the express? The only ones I have have the doors in the wrong place and the windows are all wrong.

Cheers,
Bill69

They are reskined BR coaches with differant bogies

Doesn't tell me much. What version of BR coaches, Mk1,Mk2, or Mk3. Can you give me a kuid number? I can reskin and change the bogies myself.

Cheers,
Bill69

OK. don't worry, it looks like the same coaches as my Metrolinks and Overlanders.

Cheers,
Bill69
