NYCTA! pics!

I need and i can say it, thats stations are great, really great.
Good work Acelejalde,i don´t know the NYC subway, but now i can make my own
"Metro" of Madrid system, in NYCTA style(this is a game,or not?)
the stations are perfect for make stations on curve like the "Chamberí" station,
now semi-abandoned ,or NYCTA South Ferry loop,City Hall loop.
you are an artist. Thanks for your hard work:)

I tried out the stations. They worked beautifully. The only question I have is if there are any track that are designed to fit the stations. I tried using Alterr's tunnels, but there a bit wide. Much appreciate it if you could help me figure out a solution to this problem. Also, I got trainz12 for my birthday yesterday, and jeffmorris i'm looking forward to trying out your route.
Cheers,
Eric :)

I just wanted to say to everybody who is working on these NYCTA stations and tunnels to keep it up because ya'll are doing a great job. Expecially acjelade for NYCTA station. Currently I am making a whole lot of SEPTA material and currently creating the Broad Street Line.

I'm also am making the NYCTA r40m,r40s,r68,r38, and r44.

Try not to overwork yourself on all of those cars. Jeff Morris has re-created all of those cars already, and his TS2009 and up re-releases are actually pretty good. From what I understand, ExpressLine3Train is already working on the R40M/R42, so I wouldn't do that right now. Thanks for the kind comments!

Oh, and as a word of advice to all, don't overuse these stations, especially for the newer developers who have questions to ask and have no idea what they're working with. If you're gonna make a subway route, don't start off with one idea, and then get a billion more ideas. Make your first, or next project your best, and do not start a development thread if you know you're not gonna be committed to completing it.

The NYCTA mega pack is looking at a completion of about 53%. Once I get situated into my new area and ship up my laptop, I'll get back to work on my parts of the project, and I can assure you, there will be no more pauses, unless utterly necessary.

Glad to see you back sir! It's nice not to have to run operations all alone anymore :hehe:

An artist? This is one of the highest compliments I've received, thank you! I still haven't figured out the radii of the South Ferry & City Hall loops. IIRC, on the NYC Subway Route thread here, Jeff Morris explains where he got that information from. Stations like that would be static objects, and not splines. I am thinking about tackling those stations, as well as the 42 St shuttle stations, which are also irregular.

Again, thanks for your kind words! I just took action into my own hands, seeing a lack of NYCTA content since Magicland left, and I was tired of sitting around waiting and decided to create! It wasn't easy, and I still get hung up on some things--but I'm a firm believer in trying and trying until you get it just right (hence the stations taking six months to complete).

By track, you mean tunnels? Right now the NYCTA Tunnels Pack is under development, headed by ExpressLine3Train. Last I heard, he has submitted the tunnels to BStyles for error checking, and once that is done, I should receive a copy for another thorough inspection. So, at this moment, the closest tunnels that match up with my stations are mcq's "U-Bahn" subway tunnels, which are featured in the bulk of my route. I did try Alterr's tunnels awhile back, and they didn't work for me either, however I use them for my Upper East River crossings (Lexington from 125-138, 42 St/53 St/60 St/63 St tunnels, and the tunnel from Lenox Av to Grand Concourse).

As always, we'll keep you posted. If you would like the .cdp file I have of the U-Bahn tunnels instead of deciphering all the German on the DLS, let me know and I can email it.

P.S. The next post features some Sea Beach action!

Sea Beach!!!

Finally got to work on the (N) line a few weeks ago, so sorry for the delay in pictures. I was using some not-so-visually appealing tracks as placeholders while a good friend of mine whipped up NYCTA Surface Tracks for me to use on the route. Credit for those tracks shown on the Sea Beach line go to ExpressLine3Train @ the Auran/Trainz Forums. I also wanted to showcase my 4T Open Cut Station, and wall/repeater signals. The signals are still in testing phases, as I try to align them perfectly with walls and such.

Oh, and the Sea Beach line is currently only constructed up to New Utrecht Av where the (D) station sits by its lonesome. It's quite a weird sight! :p

Enjoy! And thanks again to EL3T for letting me import his tracks into 3ds/IM and use them in the game!

Nice Job

Thanks acelejalde! I completely forgot about the U-bahn tunnels! I have them so no need to send them. Also, those open cut stations look fantastic! Keep up the good work guys!
Eric :)

that's a great job! does anyone know where I can find the NYCTA Tunnels? I cannot find them on the DLS.

They are in development and not released yet. Like all of the other NYCTA content being created by EL3T, BStyles and myself, they will not be hosted on the DLS, but rather a file-sharing site.

Hey there, The single track tunnels are done but there is more tunnels to get through before releasing it.

Here is one of the tunnel river tube.

more pictures to come.

BMT Brighton Line

I've finally rediscovered my motivation for content creation and route building after "studying" pictures of the Brighton line and mulling over how to recreate the line as best I can. I spent two days (not all the way through!) creating a dozen or so track splines, station splines, and station objects to be used on the Brighton line. I tackled the problem of stations that are "half-and-half" (half subway/half open cut) by making two separate splines and two separate end pieces and putting them together. So, without further delay, here is the Brighton line, complete up to Kings Highway. I know it looks bare because of the lack of scenery, but once I finish the line to CI and install the signals, then I will put in the many trees and such. I also have to make bridge splines for when the line passes over the streets.

This was a really fun project to work on and I'm happy with the results!

P.S. Credit for the Surface Tracks shown in the pictures goes to ExpressLine3Train! He does amazing work! *thumbs up*

You don't know how happy I am cuz I really love the Q line so I'm in love with those station sorry if I sound alittle sappy but I just love anything that has to do with the Q line so keep up the great work man really keep it up.

P.S. If you get to Coney Island will you be using EL3T's station modle?

Brighton line Video

Here is a video I shot today showing off my Brighton Line---well part of it. It's an (S) coming into Prospect Park normally, then relaying down the n/b local for a bit, changing direction, and coming back to the s/b local platform for afternoon storage. I hope you all enjoy! Any other requests can be made. Here is an updated map as well showing you which areas are finished/available for "fanning".

Gone

It seems that while transferring my .cdp of my NYCTA Route from my desktop to my laptop, the route file itself somehow got messed up, so the most updated file is lost, which includes my work on the Brighton, Culver and Sea Beach lines.

Thankfully, I had a .cdp of the route from October 3rd still filed away, so that one works. Brighton wasn't hard to do, but Culver was a challenge (especially the Church Av layups), but I'm thankful the route isn't lost.

UPDATED: The new CDP file also went bad, so I've lost everything folks. Looks like I'll have to start new again in TS2009 while I re-install 10. This is bull****

That's a bummer as i think subway systems would be really good for multiplayer

Lucky me

If they aren't hosted on the DLS, they can't be used for Multiplayer?

Also, to update you all on my route fiasco:

I did an Extended Database Repair, but the files were still faulty. Luckily, having two computers (a laptop and a tower), I sometimes leave old cdps sitting around that haven't been deleted when a new one has been made. I found a cdp file from 9/12 with my route on it, and it seems to load fine. The only thing that sucks is that my Flushing, Sea Beach, Culver and Brighton progress has been lost--but that can be fixed soon. Plus, with EL3T's new tunnels being tested by me, it looks like the route is going to be looking a lot better.

I will keep everyone informed!

P.S. I am working on the 42 St Shuttle Stations, and the SF Loops. I just finished the spline for the City Hall Loop---I am loving it.

Keep your fingers crossed guys---this route WILL get completed!

Some luck!

My friend Angel (aking4125) had a CDP of the route I gave him from October 4--and it works! I recently re-installed and re-patched TS2010, so things should be good now. Again, no Brighton, Culver or Sea Beach, but rest assured I am making back ups of the back ups.

And until I get a knack for using EL3T's tunnels (and when I get the rest for beta testing, I'm sticking with MCQ for the moment. I tried some of them on a shell route I had awhile ago, and I'm still working out the kinks.

Exactly. The other players must be able to acquire the route, the session, and all dependencies before they can join a multiplayer game.

A Multiplayer session must include all the consists and drivers to be used by players during the session. It must also include the Multiplayer Rule.

I'm currently downloading jeffmorris's NYCTA stuff from the DLS for my own personal use. Hopefully this blasted program doesn't destroy the data!

Everything would be in the CDP file, including the rule, so I don't see how not hosting it on the DLS makes any sort of difference, really.
