Jeff Morris Station Configurations

Hello All!

By request from Fooly, below are the four pages of Jeff Morris' stations configurations that I did. I was bamboozled by the amount of stations he created, and the attention to detail with the configurations. After awhile, it got time consuming sifting through all the stations, looking for which ones I wanted to use. So, I sifted through all the stations (:hehe: ) and made a handy shortcut list, so I can find the station I needed quickly.

PURPLE STATIONS are B-Division lengths (approximately 200 meters), and TEAL STATIONS are A-Division lengths (approx. 175 meters). The numbers above or next to each config denote their name in the list (i.e. "22" in the subway list is 'substation22', and "02" in the el list is "elstation02"), and a green dot means it's an abandoned station layout (all gray).

Elevated Stations:

"Other" Stations and open cuts. In the trackside objects tab, the "other" stations are just listed as "station01", "station02", etc and are a mix of surface, el and subway.

Any questions or clarifications on where in NYC certain platforms can be found, please ask!

Grand Central is not on Jeff's list, and since it's a rare station, I decided not to include it, nor the Times Square (S) station in my future release. So, you'll have to build your own using built-in objects and assets from the game & DLS.

The rest of your requests can be found by looking through the list very carefully. Please do so before responding again.

Acelejalde will your subway stations work in TS2009? also will it include Open cut stations like Prospect park with half above ground and have underground?

All of my custom NYCTA content will work from TRS2004 all the way through TS12. However, my completed NYC Subway Route will only work in 2010 and above.

So, this brings up two different options for route builders:

a) Build your own NYC Subway route with my content, regardless of the version you have.

b) If you have TS2010 or TS12, then you can either build your own, or use/modify mine.

I know that might seem a little unfair, but to be quite honest, I've had a lot of problems with TS2009 on my laptop and desktop, and it's just too much hassle. I can try and see if it will work again (I haven't used 09 since around April). If it's successful, I will post an update. But, still if you're running 04 or 06, my route won't work for you. So, as of now, I guess my statement should be TS2009 would be a MAYBE on the completed route.

No he doesn't i bet because he's still doing finishing touches and i'm guessing aceljalde, your waiting for bstyles to return in 2012? Also pay attention to that which Acelejalde has been saying in his previous posts, because it seems pretty clear that although he's almost there, i'm afraid you have to wait. And based on my experience with trainzing, people can never fufill your expectations in any train sim, which is why it's always nice to create your own ;)
Cheerio,
Eric:)

New Stations

Thanks again Eric, for your help! It's much appreciated.

If you search my username, you'll see another NYCTA thread on the board about my signals and signs--the mediafire download links are there. I don't have the url readily available at the moment, but a little searching will get you what you need. ;)

Also, I am still debating other stations when I get to those portions of the system. Since I'm starting in Midtown at 59th St, and working my way south (and ultimately north), my current need is only for subway stations. For the 125th St on the (1), I'll use BStyles' stations, as well as those from Dyckman up to 215th. When I reach the Culver viaduct, and the (7) line, I'll keep you informed of my decision to either use BStyles' stations [likely for the 7 & N] or create new ones [Southern/Eastern BMT & Bronx els/Brighton and Sea Beach line]

Back in route building for NYCTA

After a lot of consideration, I have decided:

to continue to use mcq's U-Bahn tunnels/tracks, and alterr's Russian subway tunnels on my NYC subway layout. While BStyles is on hiatus, I tried to do my own NYCTA tunnels, and they didn't mesh well with my stations and it just caused a lot of frustration. And, I just found my old NYC subway route in my cdp folder on my desktop, and I've uploaded it, so instead of starting all over like I originally planned, I am going to replace assets the old file and keep on building. So, I am back in the route building game, and for those who have forgotten the progress I've made, here's a handy update map!

More pics to come within the week as I work uptown, and start replacing stations with my new creations!!!

96th/Broadway

Here's some eye-candy from the first station I've replaced with a new one on my NYC subway route--96th St & Broadway on the West Side IRT. I have to re-do the benches, they came out too small. But the objects are there, along with signals, etc. The splines will come with those tracks pre-attached, which are Russian subway tracks, you'll need them from the DLS.

P.S., the custom subway map situated on the back of the stairs is a scaled-down photo of an actual hand-drawn map made by me in 2010. It is about 4 feet x 4 feet and is hanging on my wall in my living room. I am selling them, ALL hand-drawn and customizable if any of you are interested. We can set prices--inbox me if interested!

P.P.S. I know that the overhead signals need to be height adjusted in sketchup and 3ds to fit the new stations (the lights weren't in the original versions). That will be fixed and a new set will be released soon!

The Brooklyn IRT

After teasing an entrance into the Bronx, I decided to focus on the Brooklyn IRT for a little while. The section between Bergen Street & Eastern Pkwy was by far one of the most difficult I ever had to do--with the tracks rising as they go southbound under Flatbush Avenue. The diagrams I used to help me are in the following links:

IRT Brooklyn 1
IRT Brooklyn 2

So now, here are some shots between Bergen St & Eastern Pkwy/Brooklyn Museum, as well as the Brighton tunnels.

The next portion will be the entire 4 Av Subway to 95 St.
